ipsy Review – December 2019

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

ipsy sends its members a beautiful Glam Bag with 4-6 deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products based on your ipsy profile. Their bags always have an incredible value (well over the $12 cost), and I am always amazed at how they do it. I don’t always love everything in the bags, but I always always think it was worth my $12.  They also offer a rewards system for subscribers.  You can earn points by reviewing the items you get in your bags, sharing your ipsy bag on social media, etc. You can then redeem your points for products (often items which were featured in previous months) on the ipsy website.

Note: This a replacement bag.  My December 2019 bag (as shown in my ipsy profile and here) was lost in the mail.  I reached out to customer service and was sent this bag as a replacement.

Because this was a replacement bag, I just received a generic ipsy information card!  No products were listed on the card. My December 2019 ipsy (replacement) Glam Bag included the following items:

~TARTE Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Kisses (1.5g) ($7.77): Kisses is a shimmery pink blush.  Have received it in the past and it is just as pretty now as it was then.  The clay in the blush helps to absorb excess oils in the skin which is super helpful for those of us with oily skin.

~purlisse Coconut Oil + Coffee Sugar Body Scrub (20g) ($2.82): I love the smell of this!  It left my skin smooth, soft and feeling very moisturized.

~It Cosmetic Confidence in a Gel Lotion (5mL) ($2.40): Love this!  According to the description it provides 72 hours of hydration, which I am not sure I understand, but I guess if there is a time I can’t wash my face for 72 hours, this will have me covered??  It isn’t heavy, goes on smooth and makes my skin feel great.

~skin regimen Night Detox Overnight Pro-Vitality Mask (15mL) ($28.50): Check out the value on this mask.  Wow!   It helps with redness and left my skin brighter by the time I woke up.  If only this wasn’t so expensive!

~Phase Zero Banana Beige Pressed Eyeshadow (2.5g) ($3.05): I feel like this is a repeat for me, but the color is one I would pick out for myself, so that is a win.  Super pretty with just the right amount of shimmer.

~GLOW for a Cause Lip Love (Flirt) ($8): Send me all the lip gloss.  I cannot get enough.  This one has a sheer pink tint to it, which I love.  It isn’t too much color, but it is just enough.

~TPSY Lip Crush Lip Oil (1mL) ($4.20): I also received this in my January 2020 Birchbox!  And just like in Birchbox, my feelings are mixed.  It isn’t a balm, but it isn’t a gloss either.  So it just feels like an extra step really?

~INC.REDIBLE Jelly Shot Lip Quencher (0.03oz) ($5.46): Would I love this as much if there wasn’t a little flower inside?  Hard to say.  It is incredibly moisturizing and give my lips a nice shine, so maybe!

~Avette Fresh Clean Coconut Mild Foam Cleanser (15mL) ($1.20):  Nothing to write home about really, but it did leave my face feeling clean.

~The Bag: The December bag is a light reflecting silver with a hunter green pull and silver hardware.

All totaled my December 2019 ipsy replacement value had a value of about $63.  That is a huge value and I loved my items, but it is important to remember that this was a replacement bag (and that it arrived over a month late).
