The December 2019 GlobeIn “FEAST BOX” included the following items:
1. Cookable Tagine – Haqima, Morocco ($50 value): I don’t believe I have ever used a cookable tagine? The information booklet includes two recipes that use the tagine – Moroccan Chickpea Tagine and Quick Beef Bourguignon which both sound great, so I guess I will give it a try. The tagine was made in Morocco by artists working in the Marrakech region.
Measurements: Assorted, 8″ x 9″
Materials: Ceramic
Care Instructions: Wipe clean with soap and water.
2. Small Spice Box with Spoon, India ($30 value): Oh goodness, I just love this. The handcrafted wood box is technically for spices, but I can’t help thinking about how gorgeous and perfect this would be for jewelry. The four mini boxes are removable so if you are using for spices or for holding your rings, it is convenient and beautiful.
Measurements: 5.5″ x 5.5″ x 2″, 2″ spoon
Materials: Mango Wood.
Care Instructions: Wipe Clean.
3. Grassland Table Runner, India ($35 value): This table runner, which rolls up for easy storage, was made in India by artisans working with Sasha Exports in a remote village in West Bengal called Sebang. They are known for woven floor and table mats made from madder grass. The artisans working with Sasha Exports earn a fair wage and their income helps them maintain a better standard of living and send their children to school.
Measurements: 13″ x 43″
Materials: Natural bamboo and cotton.
Care Instructions: Wipe Clean.
4. Elephant Serving Spoon, Kenya ($18 value): I saved my favorite for last! How cute is this elephant serving spoon? I love it! It was hand-crafted in Kenya by artisans with Bemos Craft Developers. It is a beautiful, yet functional piece. So perfect for summer salads!
Measurements: Approximately 11.5″ L
Materials: Olivewood
Care Instructions: Handwash recommended. Oil once dry.
