Beyond Juice x Mitten Crate Michigan Holiday Box

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

Beyond Juice (a franchise serving Michigan and Ohio which offers fresh juices, smoothies, sandwiches and salads) recently collaborated with Mitten Crate (who previously offered “Michigan” themed subscription boxes and now offers Gift Boxes, themed boxes and other Michigan items in their shop) for a Holiday Box!  The Holiday Box features all items from local (Michigan) small businesses and gives back to the community – via meals donated to a local food bank.

So while it’s not a subscription box and not available for shipping, I thought it would still be a great way to showcase some small businesses that you may not have heard of.  Most all of the the items in the box are all available separately and I will include links to everything!

Cost: $100.
Availability: Currently sold out. But you can e-mail Beyond Juice to get on the waiting list.
Where Can I Buy?: Michigan and Ohio Beyond Juice Locations Only – pick-up and local delivery.

Note: This is not a sponsored review and I paid for this box out of my own pocket.

The Beyond Juice x Mitten Crate Holiday Box dropped on 11/17 and was available for (local) delivery or pick-up on 11/24.  Beyond Juice has very creative during the Pandemic and has come out with an assortment of Limited Edition Boxes and Kits, including a Charcuterie Box (I think they did 4 or 5 different ones over the course of a few months) and a Smoothie Kit!

I knew what was inside before I opened the box (and before I ordered it for that matter), but opening these boxes never gets old!

The Beyond Juice x Mitten Crate Box included the following items:

$25 Beyond Juicery + Eatery Gift Card ($25):  The value here speaks for itself!  $25 to treat myself to a fresh juice and wrap or salad sounds amazing.  If you are ever near a Beyond Juice and aren’t sure what to try, I highly recommend their bottled “I Need a Hero” juice. SO.GOOD.

Dave’s Sweet Tooth Dark Chocolate Peppermint Toffee ($6.99): I didn’t know this was a Michigan made product until it popped up in a subscription box (Mantry maybe).  It’s absolutely delicious and my husband cannot get enough of it. We actually just bought a bag of their original flavor last week!

D’vine Large Stuffed Red Velvet Cookie ($4.67) and D’vine Large Chocolate Chip Cookie ($3.67): I don’t even know what else to say about these cookies other than that they are amazing.  Incredible really. Detroit Cookie Co. also makes incredible cookies if you are on the hunt ;).

Better Made Dill Pickle Potato Chips (~$3): What is a Michigan box without Better Made? If you are from the Detroit area you know Better Made chips and I am 99% sure you used to eat them at your Grandparents house.  Their chips are good, but their potato sticks are even better.

Good Vibrations Soap from Cellardoor Bath Supply Co ($7): This smells like a combination of bergamot, rose petals,  grapefruit and sandalwood.  They make all their soaps from scratch and their about me has a Fight Club soap making reference which made me laugh!

Beyond Juice Spiced Cider Candle from Detroit Wick: Detroit Wick is a somewhat different type of candle company.  They do offer some signature scents, but their main focus is on “scent branding” and partner with businesses such as Beyond Juice to create signature scents.

Pop Daddy Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Sticks ($4.99): Another Michigan brand I discovered from a subscription box!  My husband wasn’t sure about these, but I am a fan.

Pop Daddy Kettle Corn ($3.39): Can’t go wrong here.  They now sell Pop Daddy at my local Kroger, so if you see some around and haven’t tried it, pick up a bag.

Great Lakes Pickling Co Pickling Kit ($4.99): While I don’t love a ton of pickled vegetables (I actually love pickled onions), I do love a fun project.

Carlo’s Gluten Free Original Granola ($9.99): I would not have picked Cinnamon Raisin granola on my own, but I have really been into granola lately.  I’ll give it a try, but, will likely pick the raisins out ;).

Vivio’s Spicy Pickled Asparagus Jar ($8.50): I am  trying out figure out how I can incorporate these onto a charcuterie board!

Devries and Co 1887 Sweet Pepper Relish ($5.50): I have never been to DeVries (it’s a cheese shop in the Eastern Market in Detroit), but I badly want to visit. Maybe this weekend?  In the mean time I will figure out how to add this relish to the Thanksgiving table.

Beyond Holiday Card: I thought this was going to be a greeting card of some sort, but it seemed like more of an “information card” to me.

Not on the original list when the time I ordered, but also included in the box were:

Mitten Crate Collection Cork Great Lakes Coasters:  I cannot locate these online, but each coaster features one of the Great Lakes and facts about that Lake.

~Great Lakes Proud Decal ($4.99):  I love the buffalo plaid!  I will probably give this to one of my boys who will put it on their laptop.  It’s a great size and will they’ll love it.

-Plus: *** 6 meals will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank for each box sold! ***

All in all I loved this box, loved the inclusion of all the small business and loved learning more about my State! Do any places near you offer local boxes like these?  I would love to hear!
