Birchbox is a monthly subscription of beauty samples tailored to your skin, hair, and style. They recently increased the price of their box from $10/month to $15/month (current subscribers were grandfathered in at $13/month or $10/month for annual subscribers) and promise improvements to personalization, new products to choose from, more customization options for subscribers and faster shipping, among other things. April 2019 was the first month of the changes and I was anxious to get my box and see the changes for myself.

This review is on the August 2020 Birchbox. I selected a sample item this month instead of a curated box, so most of the items in here were a surprise.
My October 2020 Birchbox included the following items:
~Davines DEDE Daily Shampoo – For All Hair Types (75mL) ($7.80) and Davines DEDE Daily Conditioner – For All Hair Types (~$1): I have been using Davines (I used this and then moved on to a full-size one I had) for the last few weeks and I love it. I only wish this conditioner was bigger because it went fast! My hair feels great!
~Oribe Featherbalm Weightless Styler (0.5fl.oz) ($6.18): I don’t necessarily style my hair, but I do need to tame the flyaways. This is lightweight and lets my hair move, but keeps the flyaways at bay.
~Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Dark Circle Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum (3mL) ($10): Ahh, Kiehl’s. I think it was the first fancy brand of skincare (other than Clinique) that I tried. Anyway, this did brighten my underlie are and helped right away with puffiness.
~Chella La Vie Eyeshadow Palette (4.4g) ($19.80): Love all these shades! The palette includes two pearl shades (Femme + Vitality) and two matte shades (Instincts + Dynamic). They are buildable and easy to wear.
~Luxie 243 Precision Blending Brush ($14): The final item in the box was a shadow brush (perfect for the included palette). It features a precise tip, perfect for blending at the crease of your eyelids.
All totaled my October 2020 Birchbox had a value of approximately $59. Nice value – solid box!
