Birchbox is a monthly subscription of beauty samples tailored to your skin, hair, and style. They recently increased the price of their box from $10/month to $15/month (current subscribers were grandfathered in at $13/month or $10/month for annual subscribers) and promise improvements to personalization, new products to choose from, more customization options for subscribers and faster shipping, among other things. April 2019 was the first month of the changes and I was anxious to get my box and see the changes for myself.

This review is on the September 2020 “Katia’s Picks” Birchbox. I opted for a curated box this month, so I knew everything that was coming.
My September 2020 Birchbox included the following items:
~ARROW Color Enhancing Lip Balm (Berry) (full-size) ($15): I know I have mentioned it before, but I am obsessed with Boost Lip Balm. It is a tinted lip balm, but it also adjusts to the pH level of your skin, creating a shade that enhances your natural flush. It looks different on everyone, but is always so so pretty.
~Sunday Riley Saturn Sulfur Spot Treatment Mask (7mL) ($7): Much needed right now. My skin does NOT love working out in a mask, so anything I can do to combat breakouts and make them clear out faster is so welcome. I use it overnight as a spot treatment and have been having great results.
~IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Makeup Primer+ (5mL) ($6.50): This primer helps to hydrate skin and extend makeup wear. I don’t wear makeup too often, so I generally wear primer alone. I feel like it has a great blurring effect.
~Too Cool For School Rules of Mastic IX Enhancer (7g) ($0.79): This is a new to me product. It is used for intensive nourishment, healing, and moisture. And should be used as the final step in your skincare routine. It feels great on my skin, but I don’t see any noticeable differences.
~Pūrlisse MATCHA GREEN TEA Antioxidant Sheet Mask ($6): My skin felt ultra hydrated after using this! It was gentle, but I really felt a moisture boost from this.
~NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub (1oz) ($1.98): This product is a gentle exfoliator to clear up product build up from your scalp. It’s used in place of a shampoo once a week so it’s super easy to incorporate in your routine. Made my scalp feel amazing!
All totaled my September 2020 Birchbox had a value of approximately $38. This was a great box for me!
