Hello Fresh Review + Coupon Code - Week of 12/13/21

Hello Fresh is a weekly meal subscription service. Each week, you’ll open simple step-by-step recipes complete with nutritional information and fresh, pre-measured ingredients to get you whipping up delicious dinners in no time. The only ingredients they assume you have on hand are salt, pepper, sugar, oil, and butter. You can select the type of plan (Meat & Veggies, Veggie, Family Friendly, Fit & Wholesome, Quick & Easy or Pescatarian), the number of people you are serving (2 or 4), as well as, the number of recipes you want per week (2-6). Cost varies based on selections, but meals start at $7.99/serving.

I opted for the following box preferences:
-Type: Meat & Veggies:
-Number of People: 4
-Number of Recipes: 2
-My Cost: $75.92 / delivery (+$9.99 shipping) (I signed up during their Black Friday sale so my subscription is currently discounted. The price reflected here is full retail price).

Note: Hello Fresh and I go WAY back – check out my review from April 2013.

Hello Fresh delivers via UPS, FedEx, and select regional couriers. They do not deliver via United States Postal Service. Hello Fresh is shipped via FedEx and I receive it on Thursdays. You can opt for delivery any day of the week (which I just realized), so we will be receiving on Mondays going forward.

Hello Fresh packaging is recyclable and provides instructions on their website on how to recycle each piece. They use specially designed boxes with insulating liners, gel packs, and cooling material to keep food as cool as possible. They even modify our packaging based on season to ensure optimal freshness.

We received (I actually forgot to pick) the following meals for our Hello Fresh Box (week of December 13th):

Southwest Beef Cavatappi with Poblano & Smoky Red Pepper Crema: This is marked as a “Hall of Fame” recipe and they were not kidding. This was so so good. It was easy to make (and I can say that as someone isn’t great at it and who doesn’t love to cook) and we all loved it. Rating: 10/10

Homestyle Chicken & Biscuit Pot Pie with Pillsbury™️ Buttermilk Southern Homestyle Biscuits, Carrots & Celery: Another huge winner. The only issue with this one is that the celery was bad (you can see in my picture it’s not looking great and it was looking even worse two days after we received the box).  I didn’t e-mail Hello Fresh about the issue, but if I receive bad produce in the future I absolutely will. B (my husband) made this one and we all went back for seconds. The biscuits on top were 100x better than I was expecting. Rating: 9/10 (only because the celery was bad).
