August Birchbox Review

My August Birchbox (the “Beauty School” one) finally arrived. Thank you Birchbox for taking forever to get this box to me. Everyone else got theirs over a week ago. But you must know how patient I am (NOT) and how I love to just wait. And wait. Oh and can I just say that UPS Mail Innovations has the worst tracking system ever? I don’t know why they refer to it as a “tracking” system, because it never updates. Anyways, on to the contents of my August box:

~Schick Hydro Silk Razor: I typically use men’s Gillette Fusion razors, but heck I’ll give this a try. Razors are so expensive, so anytime you get one for free, I’m totally excited.
~Osmotics Cosmeceuticals Blue Copper 5 Firming Elasticity Repair: Okay, that name is handful. They couldn’t have thought of anything shorter? Phew. But in all seriousness, I *need* this. I have probably mentioned this before, but I do not moisturize. Or even wash my face at night. GASP. I will pay for this one day. But I swear I am going to try to. At least until this sample runs out anyways.
~Caldrea Hand Soap: I am pretty sure Birchbox put this in my box because I said I had kids in my profile. Kids = dirty hands. I used to buy this brand at Target, but I am not sure they carry it anymore? But I loved it then and I know I will love it again. But I hate the sample packaging. I doubt I will get more than one use out of it because the container will just get all nasty.
~SHU UEMURA Art of Hair Moisture Velvet Nourishing Shampoo: At first I thought $48 for Shampoo, that’s insane. But if it makes my hair stop falling out, I’d pay it. I mean, that’s less than hair transplants will cost me correct? I don’t think it’s going to make it stop and shampoo isn’t one of my splurges, but that doesn’t mean I won’t use this.
~SHU UEMURA Art of Hair Moisture Velvet Nourishing Treatment: This might actually be something that helps my hair. It’s a mask that you apply at least once a week that will help reverse all types of damage. That’s cool with me because in addition to falling out, my hair is dry (except when it’s greasy) and full of split ends. Oh wait, that might be because I haven’t gotten it cut in nine months ;).
~Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy La Fleur: I am not real into “floral” scents, but maybe I will wear it when I plant flowers or something so I am not overly annoyed by it.

I know a lot of people are annoyed when they get “foil” packet samples, but I don’t mind too much.  Yeah, the tiny little bottles are WAY cuter, but whatever.  They are samples.  Was this month’s box worth $10? Yep.  I mean the razor alone was $9.99 and I will so use that, so I really only paid $0.01 for everything else.

Do you subscribe to Birchbox?  What did you get this month?  Oh, and for those keeping track, I got Box #33 this month.

Spread the love
