Pre-Spring Cleaning / To-Do List

I’m totally doing something that I hate right now, making a blog post without pictures. But I’ve got no pictures to go along with this post, so that’s just the way it is.

I’ve got so many projects I need to tackle this Spring, so I thought I’d get a jump start on them ;). And post about them all to keep myself accountable!

~Get Garage Sale Ready. B and I want to have a garage sale this summer (and my brother and SIL are having another that we will participate in as well) and I need to prepare. Last time I waited till the last minute and threw everything together, forgot things, etc. Not this time!
~Clean my Google Reader. I started on this tonight, but have more work to do. I have SO many random blogs o there that I never read or comment on that need to delete. I just scroll right by them every single day. It’s going to save me a ton of time once I remove them!
~Donate. There are some things I am just not into selling at garage sales (clothing is one of those things), so I need to go through our closets and donate the things we don’t need / use!
~Do a Mom2Mom Sale. Speaking of clothes, L and WB have more clothes than I know what to do with. I was thinking of getting a table at one of the Mom2Mom sales and seeing how it goes. Has anyone had any luck with this?
~Clean the Windows. Okay mom, you were right. They are filthy. Luckily she volunteered to help clean them, so one day in the near future, these suckers are going to be spotless. Until WB licks them or Baxter runs directly into the doorwall because it’s so clean that he thinks it’s open (this has happened before).
~Backup.  My laptop, iPhone, desktop, etc. are all overloaded.  I need to back up and delete things so they run faster.  I know a lot of people use iCloud to back up there computers.  Can someone give me some details on this?

I am sure I have a million more things that I am forgetting right now, but this is a start.  I am already feeling better about beginning the Google Reader cleanup!!  What’s on your list this Spring?

My iCloud backs itself up every day. Which version of iPhone do you have? (Mine is an iPhone 4). About a year ago I dropped my iPhone and it shattered. I thought that I had lost everything! Once I got my new phone it asked for my Apple login information and it downloaded everything that was on my phone from the previous night including pictures, texts, contacts, apps, etc. I didn’t even realize that my phone was saving all of that information through my iCloud until then.

Oh my. So heres my address, and ill take all your pirate, skulls, safari clothing. ;D! Oh and elephants/rhinos, man I love those lol.

I need to clean my computer, back up onto a live server, organize my clip art, set up a storage for my vinyl, organize craft space, and probably clean our apartment. Oh and the bedroom, its like a hurricane.

I’ve had luck with clothes at my sales but I do a basic pricing. All shirts $, pants $, coats $ and so on. Then whatever doesn’t sale we take right to donate then. I make a little and still get some donations going.

I’m currently tagging tons of kids clothes for a consignment sale at my moms church. Its an electronic system so I have to type it in then print out and pin to the clothes. It takes time but I don’t have to deal with the selling. I’ve also joined a sale/swap group on FB so I’m selling some stuff there too. I’ve never been to a sale where you man your own table. That could be interesting. Here they are all drop your tagged stuff off and there are long long rows of clothes to dig through. Advantage of having a boy is that there is never as much stuff to dig through and I don’t get as overwhelmed. 😉

I’m pretty sure the last time we cleaned our windows I was pregnant with my first who just turned 5. LOL might be a task we need to do soon.

To store files and stuff, you can try http://www.box.com

I really like this storage site. Recently they had offered upto 50GB space to store your stuff. I upload a ton of my pictures and things to it. Best of all you have the apps of it in Google Play and App Store so you can have Box on your phone. Take pictures, mass upload onto box and download onto machine.

I need to get started on spring cleaning and organizing as well. Even though we just moved into this house in December I know so much can be organized. 🙂

My cousin loves the mom2mom sales. She goes to them all the time up around Detroit in the ritzy areas to get name brand clothes and stuff really cheap. I would try it out if you can find the time.

Just cleaned up my GoogleReader as well this week…Such random blogs I had no idea I was even following.

I have some cleaning and organizing to do as well. I need to go through the entire house and purge the stuff we do not use.

I also need to clean out my bloglovin, there are quite a few blogs that I just scroll past as well. Like you said, it would make life so much easier.

I just have an issue where I will find a new person to follow, add them but then I don’t go back. :/

Hopefully by cutting down the number I follow, it will make things a lot easier. I think I need to do that on twitter too.

My to do list for this weekend just got longer. :p thanks lol

Have a good one, oh did you get the separate email I sent to you on Wed?

I do a consignment sale twice a year that is strictly for kids stuff. I usually make about $500 a sale and that is after the lady who runs it takes her percentage. I price my stuff to sell (cheap), and then whatever doesn’t sell I opt to donate to charity. So once it’s out of my house, it is never coming back.

It is a lot of work though. I actually have to do that this weekend. The sale is in two weeks, and I have done NOTHING to get ready.

Right now I keep all of Adeline’s things except clothes I don’t like (usually given to us, haha), which I take to a donation center. I really don’t want to bother with consigning clothes, etc. either so when I am ready to get rid of her clothes (if baby #2 is a boy) I’ll probably gift the clothes to a friend or family member expecting.

I refuse to clean my windows, they are ancient and I can’t clean both sides from the inside. Impossible to make them clean. So the only way I’ll ever have clean windows is when we can afford to replace all the windows (about $7k, YIKES!).

Just have to tell you I am loving reading your blog! I stumbled on it a few weeks ago and spent one night sitting in my living room with my laptop watching the Kardashians and reading all your posts. As for the spring cleaning/to do’s… ugh, don’t go there. I have found a lovely consignment shop so all my kiddos outgrown toys and clothes go there. What they can’t sell they donate. I generally use the proceeds to by the next seasons wardrobes, since for some reason my kids like to grow!!
