June Birchbox

I was totally shocked when I got a shipping notice from Birchbox earlier in the week and even more shocked when my June Birchbox appeared in my mailbox today. According to the tracking, it wasn’t set to arrive until the 10th. Let’s just say I was pretty excited to see it!

Birchbox
The Box

Birchbox revealed their new logo and website redesign earlier in the week and I was excited to see that they also redid their boxes! I guess it makes sense, but I totally wasn’t expecting it.

The Box in the Box

The logo on the inside Birchbox is also new and I am curious to see if they will be using it for both the Women’s and the Men’s boxes? Wait, maybe not since the Men’s boxes are bigger? Either way, I do like the new box.

Birchbox
First Look

I follow Birchbox on Facebook, but I never look at their spoilers. Not everyone gets those items in their boxes and so it could mean everything.  Or nothing.  And since my box came SO early, it hadn’t even been posted to my account yet, so I had no idea what was coming in this box.  So yeah, I totally went spoiler free.  Not by choice, but I’m counting it ;).

Birchbox
The Information Card

The June Birchbox theme is “Wanderlust” and includes samples from near and far that will serve you well on all your summer adventures.  Here’s what my box (I got #27 this month) (*) included:

~Birchbox + Color Club Wanderlust Collection (Reign in Spain) ($8): I always love getting mail polish in my subscription boxes and when I opened the box and saw this, I was thrilled. I love this color (it’s my favorite of the 4 in the Wanderlust Collection) and I’d putting it on my toes this week! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.

~Davines Love Smoothing Shampoo ($7.50): Ohh, I can’t wait to try this shampoo. It smells amazing (not like strong smelly, just good smelly) and per the information card is full of “moisturizing Indian fig extract and olive oil” which soften and nourish stubborn strands. I don’t get haircuts nearly as often as I should, so anything that helps make my hair look like I got a fresh cut, is a friend of mine.

~Furlesse Elevens Frown Line Reducing Patches ($2): Do these really work? Because if they do, I am buying stock in this company. Or I will stop dreaming of botox to get rid of my elevens. If this work (or even come close to working), I know what I’m spending my points on!

~LAQA & Co Lil’ Lip Duo ($8): I’m not clear if I jammed the crayon into the lid or if it came like that, but I don’t care. This is a bright color, but I can make it work on top of another color. Plus, I really like lip crayons. I just think they are fun.

~Davines Smoothing Conditioner ($1.41): I am just as excited about this as I am about the shampoo. Maybe less excited because it’s smaller, but still excited. I need to look more into this brand because I’ve never heard of them before today. They sound great!

Davines Smoothing Conditioner

~Davines Oi/Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion ($0.50): This antioxidant-packed potion instantly tames frizz and stregthens hair over time. I have been loving hair oils these past few months and am guessing I will love this one as well.  Why didn’t I realize how fabulous these were sooner?

All totaled my June Birchbox had a value of $27.41.  Including the points I get for reviewing the products (which is equal to $4 because I think the hair products might count as 1 item) and the points I got for purchasing the box (which is equal to $1), the box had a real total of $32.41. This is the best Birchbox I have gotten in ages and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  I LOVE this box.  LOVE.

I can’t wait to get mine. It is not due until the 11th, but per tracking it was tendered to the USPS today, which I hope means I will get it Monday. I have not a clue what I am getting. My box weight is really low, so I am sure I am not getting the shampoo. Believe or nothing am hoping for those cute nautical hair ties I have seen on Instagram that some have received.

  2. Shelby

I got my box today too and like you, went spoiler free (by choice) and first time ever haha. Mine also said my box was gonna be here later like the 11th. Nice surprise!

I still don’t have a clicky truck, but maybe mine will just magically appear in my mailbox next week. Hope so, as I love the box this month! Hoping I get either the purple or mint nail polish, as I’m not really into pink polish. And lip crayons are totally fun! Enjoy!

Bleh. Ok, sorry. But I’m glad I didn’t resubscribe after last month. There just seems to be a lot of shampoo lately. I would LOVE a review from you on the elevens patches. I’m also fighting them.

Keep us posted about the Furlesse frown patches. I’m developing half a hyphen aka smile lines that I’d like to minimize. I haven’t used many line reducers and am trying to find a good one.

SUCH a great box! I am crossing my fingers for the green nail polish. I get two subscriptions and I just checked one of mine and I am soo bummed. They are sending me Whish shaving cream which they sent me in May and I even checked and its the same subscription…AND i am allergic! it gave me an awful rash and bumps. I was SO upset about that. but def looking forward to my first one

Hmmm, are you saying you get points just for paying for the box? I had been wondering about that because I am on a monthly sub and only get points for my reviews, never the $10 that I spent on the box! I guess I will send them an email if that is the case!

  8. Riann

Um- never mind! I just saw your explanation about the points at the bottom. 🙂 skimming!

  9. Carrie

I’m def looking forward to getting mine in after seeing this! Ahh the joy of waiting!

Your box rocks. Mine still isn’t updated in my account so not sure what number I got but it was sucky. 🙁 You got alot of items from the video and I only got the polish. Everything else seems like a leftover to me. I’m going to try and blog it tomorrow and take a better look but tonight its not making me happy.

  11. Jennifer

You are lucky to get it so early! I don’t remember seeing any of those items in the sneak peeks-I can’t believe how many variations there are for Birchbox. I wasn’t impressed with my May box, so I am hoping I love this one. Mine is supposed to come on the 11th. I am wanting the mini emery boards!

  12. Emily KG

No too impressed by this one, but I’ll see what I get. I am excited about Ipsy though. They seem to get better each month. Did you see all the stuff people got at Generation Beauty? OMG! No worth a trip to LA, but holy shiitake!

I was in the same boat! The shipping conf said I was supposed to receive my box on the 13th and I got it on the 10th..why it said the 13th when it was going to NJ from NJ I have not a clue. Anywho I LOVED my box this month (compared to the past 2 months). I received the nail polish but a white/ivory color (a little odd but whatever it can be fun with some “enhancements”, dry shampoo, lip crayon, some exfoliate and a cute little hair tie.
    For $10 its all good!

  14. Deena

I liked that the lip crayon was minty and it went on smoothly, but the color is so not happening. I received the green London Calling nail polish; will be great on toes. I also got the Coola moisturizer, which I wanted to try anyways. Good box this month.

  15. Amanda

This will be my first box it’s ships 21 🙁

  16. Alison

you got a much better color than I did. I got the white one. I really wanted any of the other 3.

  17. pumkin

So funny. I got the EXACT same box. My lipstick was smashed too and in worse condition, broken off in the tube. My nail polish was an obnoxious neon peachy color. But other than that, same products. You love it. I think it’s the worst Birchbox I’ve ever gotten. I’m extremely disappointed. Other than the conditioner packet and the oil, there’s not a single thing I will use. (I don’t shampoo.) It’s really interesting how people can feel so differently about the same thing! I just assumed everybody thought this box was miserable 😛

So, I subscribed to Birch Box about 2 weeks ago after devouring your reviews. My first one came today, and I’m excited! It shipped out on Thursday and got to me in MD today (Monday). I’m pretty happy about everything I got. I got the mint green polish, and it’s so pretty! I also got Miss Jessie’s pillow soft curls. I’m really excited to try this, as I have naturally curly/wavy hair and I’m all about products that smooth and tame this mane! 😉

Can someone explain to me how Birchbox works exactly? Do they customize the boxes for your specific needs? I keep hearing amazing things about it, it comes every month right once you subscribe?
