The Monthly Nail, who kindly sent me this package to review, is a brand new international monthly nail polish subscription box company that brings you the hottest, most customized colors of the season right to your door! You can select from one of three subscription options: Basic ($15.99) which includes two full sizes polishes, Premium ($19.99) which includes three full sizes polishes and Luxury ($24.99) which includes four full sizes polishes.  Polishes can be custom designed

I received the Luxury option for review purposes. Due to problems with the full sized bottles for the Eugene Malibu indie collection (which is their in-house brand) instead if two full sized indie polish bottles I received four mini ones in additional to the two full-size name brand polishes.  The Monthly Nail indicated that subscribers were refunded 100% of their subscription price due to the issue and that the problem has now been corrected.  Just wanted to include that since it does say full sized bottles on their site, which would be what subscribers would receive going forward.

The Box

The Monthly Nail ships via USPS First Class Mail and arrived in just a few days.  They said they that shipment had been delayed due to the issue with the polish bottles, but I’m not sure when it was suppose to arrive, so I was fine with it.

First Look

Everything was neatly packaged and it looked like someone had taken care to make sure things looked great.  I appreciate that kind of thing for sure.

Unwrapped First Look

Not only was everything nicely packaged, it was also secured nicely in bubble wrap to make sure that nothing was broken during shipment.  The Monthly Nail did not include an information card, but that’s fine since I didn’t think it was necessary to in a box like this.  Here’s what was included:

~OPI “In True Stefani Fashion” ($8.99): Oh goodness, this is gorgeous!  It’s described as a “hollagraphic silver glitter” and I love it.  For me it’s a glitter to wear over a color, but I am sure that people wear it alone as well.

~Essie “Belugaria”: This is a holographic jet black lace.  I was expecting a black with a bit of glitter, but it’s actually a textured polish.  Think tiny little caviar beads.  It’s like nothing I have (no seriously it is) so I am happy to welcome it into my collection.

~Eugene Malibu “Pink Palace”, “White Sandbox”, Mermaid Queen” and “Bananarama”:  Eugene Malibu is an indie line of hand-blended nail polish and is the “in-house” polish of The Monthly Nail.  They allow you to design your own polishes, name your own colors, etc. and the result will be included in your subscription box!  This is in addition to the name brand items you will also receive.  So cool and I actually love that I got 4 mini polishes instead of two larger ones.  It’s not like I am going to use up the two bigger ones anyway, so 4 colors for me is better than two ;).  I tested out the polishes and found the consistency to be great, with the exception of the glittery white one “White Sandbox” which I did think was a little thick. Still totally usable though.  And that green?  Even better in person!

The box I received had a price tag of $23.99 and promises to have a value of $41 (which would work out to be a retail price $10.25 per polish.  I can’t get a price for the in-house brand, but the subscription would be $6 per bottle, which does seem to be about right!

WOW that OPI is Gorgeous. It would look great. Here lately I have glitter on all the time. LOL even if I put a color on one day the next day I might add a glitter to it. 🙂 Wearing a pretty Julep purple now Alice I think with my NCLA glitter from Wantable over it. Loving it.

      You always need glitter!

Oh yes! I checked out the Julep colors. SO pretty. I also love that you added the glitter top coat to spice up your manicure. I never thought about that! Glitter is actually Eugene Malibu’s specialty :).
