First Look

The snacks in this month’s box seemed larger than normal.  It’s usually a larger number of smaller snacks, but this month seemed to be fewer, but larger snacks.

The Information Card

The January 2016 bocandy included the following items:

~Mypa Peanut Bar (Bulgaria): This is delicious.  It’s a chocolate wafer peanut bar.  Sort of like a snickers, but with wafers.  They should sell these in the States!

~Thomas Pocky Sticks (Japan): From the sounds of the information card a variety of different characters / brands were sent out, but we were lucky enough to get Thomas!  My 3 year-old was thrilled. If it’s Thomas he loves it.

~Chocolate Marzipan (Mexico): This “mazapan covered with chocolate is a delicious peanut confection, a round chewy candy made of crushed peanuts covered and enriched with the energy and flavor of chocolate”.  It sounds pretty good (I mean peanuts and chocolate), but I am not crazy about marzipan.

~Japanese Wand Gum: I thought this was a straw because it’s in a drink on the package, but it’s not. It’s just a giant stick of lemon soda flavored gum.  It’s interesting.  I don’t like gum (I know that’s kind of weird), but it was fun to try.

~Vanilla Cake (Russia): This is described as “kind of like a twinkie, but better”.  I’m not sure about that and I don’t even enjoy twinkies that much.  This is also coated in chocolate which makes it much different as well.

~Honey Linzer (all over Eastern Europe and Asian Subcontinent): I keep expecting this to taste like caramel, but it’s honey.  It’s not the best looking snack and has kind of a weird texture (it’s spongy), but it’s okay.

I do not recommend this subscription to anyone. I was charged three times over a course of a little over a mont and only sent two identical boxes. The phone number associated with the site is not a valid number and I nhave very got a response to any of my emails for a refund or to cancel my subscription. I ended up having to get a new credit card to make the charges stop. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE!
