Things I Love Thursday: Customer Service Edition!

Disclosure: If you make a purchase through the links posted below, I may receive a small compensation. Read the full disclosure.

We all know I loved the customer service at the Cosmopolitan, but I thought I would share some other places with amazing customer service too! Here goes:

Apple: You know why I love Apple? Not only because they have the coolest products, but because when you break your super cool laptop or iPhone, you can just make an appointment at the genius bar and they will look at it and tell you what’s wrong. FOR FREE. Then you can at least decide if it’s worth it to get fixed or if you should just ditch it. It’s way easier to walk into a store with your computer and talk to a person about it face to face than it is to talk to some customer service idiot 1/2 across the world named “Bob” that wants you to run a million tests over the phone before he will let you send it to for them to actually look at. Yeah, I’m talking about you Dell. I will never forget those long hours we spent on the phone with you making me run tests over and over again while I yelled at you into the phone. Good times. Never again.

Nordstrom: Who doesn’t like Nordstrom? And if you don’t why not? I have never met a rude or unfriendly employee. Ever. And it would be fair to say I have ran (or is it run?) across many Nordstrom employees in my shopping career. If you want something that is sold out, they will search every Nordstrom in the country for you and have it shipped to your house. I have used this service many times and it’s awesome. And the free hemming?? Oh my. I think they say it takes 24-48 hours or something, but both times we have needed jeans hemmed, they did it in like an hour. And were thrilled they were able to help us! They rule.

Zappos: Not only do they have a giant selection of shoes, but they also ship it for free. And fast. And return shipping is free. I have placed orders at 8pm only to have them arrive the next day at 4pm. It’s amazing and I would love to go to their distribution center to see how they make this happen. And the return free shipping is fabulous because if you are in between sizes and want to try two different ones before you decide, then just order two pair and ship the ones that don’t fit back for free! I should tell you, I do not like that they have stuff other than shoes. To me, Zappos = Shoes. And I do not want it to = anything else!

UPS: I may just like UPS because they bring me lots of fun packages, but I also do like that they have great employees. Our UPS driver is very nice and friendly and always can get thru to our house in bad weather. Even when the mail man can’t (or says he can’t) get thru, the UPS man always does. I think he knows just much we all love him!

Kohl’s: Have you ever been in Kohls and not gotten what you wanted on sale? I mean, everything is always on sale. And their return policy is amazing! I also like their Kohls Cares for Kids charity products. $5 for nice hard cover books with the proceeds going to charity? Of course! I do have one complaint about Kohl’s though. I cannot stand the way their registers are set up. No one ever seems to understand which line to be in, where to go, etc. There must be a better system? Maybe I will study it this weekend when I go spend my $10 coupon they sent me in the mail. Can’t wait to shop!

So what places do you think have the best customer service? I found this list hard as I don’t think a lot of places (at least places I go) have amazing customer service. It’s usually just average. I can think of many places that have horrible customer service though. Maybe that needs a separate post??

    Nordstrom <3 – enough said!

You forgot that Kohls takes expired coupons! I don't know why this thrills me but I always seem to have an expired coupon with me when I find myself popping in, or you can take a coupon back later to apply to a purchase you made earlier! I love their $5 books too!

I agree with all you said. I have also had a couple good experiences with Amazon.com, including them answering the phone Christmas Day about Megan’s Kindle being defective, being very apologetic, and giving a gift card for our inconvenience and resending a new one.

Love Kohls. There’s one like 2 miles from my house so that’s probably my most frequent stop. (Was there last night with my 30% coupon!) Always sales!!

Ya, I am sure “Bob” really cherishes the time he spent on the phone with you also.

Yeah, I am sure he did. He made me cry. What an asshole.

I love that Bed, Bath and Beyond takes expired coupons and no limit. That is pretty awesome. I love Apple’s customer service, but hate that I have to use it as much as I do. They should must make their products better.

Oh, I forgot about Bed, Bath & Beyond. I do like that they take expired coupons. I can never find anything in their store though, so I do not like that part. I am always overwhelmed by the amount of choices!

My God. I always go there for one thing and buy 20. That store totally brings out my impulse shopping tendencies.
