The Amazon Box

Like I mentioned yesterday, an Amazon package I didn’t ordered showed up in my mailbox on Saturday. I was super excited I had won something until I realized the package was addressed to B :(. It turns out I pretty much did win something. Not only had B bought me a birthday gift well in advance of my birthday, he actually wanted me to open it right away. Umm, no need to tell me twice!

Bryan got me a camera lens I have been been looking at for a few years.  Now, let’s be real.  I am not a photographer, nor do I have any desire to be one.  I would like to be a master at Photoshop, but that’s another story.  I do like taking fun pictures of all of our activities and hate when I can’t zoom in far enough (among other things).  B knew this and took action!

The mystery box, just taunting me to open it!  I actually did wait till Sunday morning even though B wanted me to open it Saturday.  I kind of knew what it was (B hinted at it) and wanted to be able to play with it right away and since we were having guests over, I knew I had other things I needed to do.

Here it is!!  B and L and I all opened it together and started playing right away.  I’m still working on reading the instruction manual.  I bet I would be blown away by the fabulous things this lens can do if I did read it.  All in due time I suppose.

L was more than happy to pose for a few shots.  He was really just excited I told him he could play with the limes.  I love how L’s hand and the limes are perfectly clear, the limes are a little blurred the background is totally blurred.

If you have ever been to my house, you know it’s kind of a hike to get to the mailboxes. I love how this picture makes the far away mailboxes seem so close, but blurs out the much closer basketball net.

The roses in the backyard are always a perfect subject.  I cannot believe how fabulous this picture came out.  So stunning.  It helps that the rose was perfect too!

Those pictures were all taken within the first 10 minutes of opening the box.  I cannot wait to see what this thing will do once I understand how to use it!  Do any of you have this lens?  Any tips to share?  Or does anyone have any other good photography tips to share??

Spread the love

Wow, that lens looks amazing. Random question but do you have an email address for your blog readers? Would love to ask you a question but it’s personal so I’d rather not post it for the public to see. thanks!

I’m looking forward to seeing more beautiful pictures you’ll be getting now! What kind of camera do you use? I’ve been secretly wishing for a nice new camera with a quality lense so I can’t take my photography to the next level. I love to scrapbook and think something nicer than my simple point and shoot would be awesome. Have fun with it!!! 🙂

You had people over? My ringer must have been off. I never knew.

Ha! I second what Brian said. That was my first thought. I feel so jilted.

The lens takes amazing pictures though. I know how far those mailboxes are.
