Weekend Wrap-Up

We had another super fun weekend around here. I couldn’t even tell you what we did Friday night? I know B and I watched “I am Number Four” which is a dumb movie. Saturday morning started off with my Cardio Fusion class. Seriously, that lady is crazy, but I would take her class again. She’s hardcore. Next up was Tons O’ Trucks. It’s an annual event thrown in our area. Basically it’s every kind of truck, bus, police car, fire truck, etc. that you could think of in one place. Kids can climb on them, sit in them, whatever. And there are real police officers, fireman, bus drivers, etc. there. They really go all out and the kids go crazy for it every year.

After lunch at Panera, we came home and relaxed for a few hours and then set out to our local outdoor mall. I had some returns to make at Nordstrom and we had some shopping to do, so it worked out well. We had a yummy dinner thanks to some P.F. Changs gift cards we had and played in the fountains at the mall before heading home. It was smoking hot out Saturday and the fountains were a great place to cool off!  B and I caught up on some shows we had on DVR after L went to bed

Sunday was another beautiful day here. We stuck around the house all day and pretty much just played. L was nice enough to take Buddy on a car ride (I’m sure he loved it) and spent most of the rest of the day splashing in the pool while B walked around and worked on his tan (just kidding, he cleaned the garage).  Oh, and the ice-cream man came by, so L used some birthday money he had to buy himself and B some treats!  I got some stuff done around the house and with the help of my trusty assistant (L), I baked some of Aunt Karen’s famous chocolate chip cookies!  We ended the night watching the MTV Movie Awards.  No matter how old I am, I always enjoy those award shows!
It was a fabulous weekend and I couldn’t have asked for it to be any better!  I can only hope that every weekend this summer is this beautiful!  What did you all do this weekend?

We went to Jennison, near Grand Rapids, for the state finals track meet, which my amazing daughter Hailey was running in. Her relay team didn’t place. But they ran their hearts out. And their team has 3 freshmen and 1 junior on it. So it is pretty amazing that they made it to states. And next year they will be stronger and faster. It was 85 degrees out and there was no shade. It was a long day. Afterwards, the girls wanted to go to the mall. So we went to Rivertown Crossings. That is a pretty amazing mall. Then at 9 pm we headed home for the 3+ hour trip. Where the girls promptly fell asleep and got to enjoy huge bugs splattering on the windsheild and dodge tons of dumb deer who were pretty much just hanging out in the middle of the road.
