I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I missed the traditional “I am thankful for…” post, but I did not forget to give thanks for all the blessings I do have!
Now, on to Christmas decorating! L and I have been busy decorating the past few days. I am doing my traditional mantle again and am leaving the downstairs in Christmas colors (red, green, silver, white, etc.), but decided to do something fun upstairs! I have a ton of brightly colored ornaments (on sale from last year and from my white tree that I am not putting up this year), so used all colorful stuff in my (and B’s I guess 😉 bedroom. And I love the way it all turned out. My favorite is the ornaments in the lamp! I switched out the purple shades and flowers I had here for white shades and ornaments and it’s like a brand new lamp! I think these lamps may be one of my all time favorite Target purchases!
I am also planning on doing my porch in bright colors and am currently working on an ornament wreath. Yes, I am making it myself! I started last night and ran out of ornaments already! I have about 2 hours worth of work into it and maybe have an hour more to do. Here is a sneak peak (after two hours worth of work).
If I could give you one tip, I would say cover your wreath first! I used a white styrofoam wreath (18 inches) and could kick myself for not covering it in glitter or something first! Lesson learned! I will be back soon (hopefully) with a full recap on making an ornament wreath!
Wow…love everything! Thanks for the tip on the glitter…that makes sense. My styrofoam is green!? I just bought a bunch of 70% off ornaments at JoAnns today, plus 25% my total purchase! Pretty sure I’m gonna need more now that I look at yours!! I love it! Your ornaments are glass, right!?

Mine are actually shatterproof. I think they are plastic or something? I push pretty hard on the ornaments to get them to stick!! And my Styrofoam
was white?? I’ll post my “instructions” tonight.
Your wreath is beautiful. I had attempted to do one three times before I gave up the foam/glue gun method. What ended up working for me was an old school wire hanger. It would be almost impossible to get the four perfectly spaced large ornaments but it looks amazing and it is two-sided. Just do yourself a favor if you try the wire hanger method use your glue gun to glue all the little tops onto the balls they will come loose. Well done on mastering the foam though very impressive!
