Okay, so I’ve been thinking about home phones a lot lately and am wondering if most people have them or not? If you have one, do you use it? And if you don’t have one, do you think you’d ever use one?
Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
Hi, I don’t think I’ve ever commented before, but I enjoy your blog….and thought it would be rude to vote and not comment. With that being said, the reason we have a home / LAN line is because we have two little ones and if there ever was an emergency and couldn’t find or figure out our cell phones, they can use the home phone and emergency people will have our address. Anyways…Congrats on your pregnancy, love what you’ve done with the baby room.
Thanks for reading!!! I am also wondering if a home phone line is a must have with little kids??
That is the only reason I see the need for a home phone…if not for the kiddos, I would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. It’s peace of mind / security for us. 🙂
We have a land line for a couple of reasons. The first and most important being the same as Michelle, I feel more confident that my 5 yr old could find and dial 911 on a regular phone as opposed to a cell. My second reason is, I hate talking on a cell. If I am having a long conversation with my BFF, I like to be able to hold the phone between my ear and my shoulder so I can do dishes, laundry, etc. I have not been able to master that with a cell yet.
We haven’t had a home phone in years, seems like a waste of money to me.
yes and you need one too! xo
I gave up a home phone line 9 years ago to save money to be sahm. I didn’t use it at all. I taught my boys early (now they are 9yr and 5yr) how to use my cell for 911. Knock on wood they’ve never needed to do that.
We use our land line all the time. I think it is important when you have kids. We got our oldest (10) a cell phone a few months ago partly because so many of her friends do not have land lines and it’s sometimes hard to reach her when she’s not home. But our other kids don’t have cell phones, and I don’t really want their friends calling my cell phone. Plus like others have mentioned, I think it’s easier for kids to use a land line in case of an emergency. And there are lots of times when our cell phones are wonky, especially in the house. I don’t think we’ll be getting rid of our land line any time soon.
