If you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, I am sure you know about my love for free stuff. And having a baby is a pretty good time to get some free stuff. My hospital is now “baby friendly”, so they no longer give out formula company freebies, but they still do have free stuff. Like with L, we got the hat, comb and bathtub (that’s the blue tupperware like container), as well as, diapers, receiving blankets and whatever other random supplies we could get our hands on (the nurses encourage you to clean out your cart – I swear). We also got the new standard baby friendly gift bag of a reusable tote and an insulated bag, which was stocked with samples, coupons, etc. But the best freebie was the Halo Sleep Sack. Technically this is NOT a freebie, but I took it anyways. I guess they just recently started using them at the hospital and they aren’t stocked in the carts in the rooms. A nurse brought us one to use and W got it dirty after a while and stopped wearing it. I realized a few hours later that the new nurse on duty had no clue we’d gotten one of these, so I made B grab it and throw it in our bag. So yeah, we stole it. Whatever. Since no doctors were present for my delivery and I only stayed there one night, I deserved that swaddle sack ;).
So tell me, if you’ve recently had a baby, what freebies did you get??
They meant to give you that sleep sack I’m sure ;)!! Hope things are going well!

Oh, I’m sure they did ;). What kind of freebies did you get with your kids? Any extras because you had twins??
A lot of similar stuff but with the twins a couple cases of those 2 oz. ready made Similac bottles which was awesome!!
I do love those little formula bottles! I should have stolen more!
I totally agree that you were meant to take that sleep sack home. That’s cool that they’re using those now, seems much easier than trying to keep a wriggling newborn swaddled!
So much easier!!!
Congratulations again! I love the pictures. SOOOOOOOO adorable. Beaumont Royal Oak gives you a brand new halo…gift wrapped. No joke! Something to think about for you next….hahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! 🙂
Ohhh, that is awesome!!! I am jealous. I had to resort to robbery to get one!
No doc present?? 1 Night Stay? You’re a trooper! I work in hospital finance and know how rare those 1 day LOS’s are!!
This is my first time commenting on your blog…I’m shy. 😉
Anyways, you made a haul! Good for you! I didn’t know other hospitals gave away that much. I work in Post Partum at a county hospital in Texas. We don’t give away squat! We aren’t provided with special stuff, only the basics. The patients are lucky if they snag a 4 pack of formula. Maybe it is because we deliver 6000+, yes you read that right, six-thousand, babies per year and 99.9% of our patients are not insured. 🙂 I wish we had stuff like this to giveaway!
Thanks for commenting!! That is a lot of uninsured babies!!! I think the hospital I had him at delivers around 3,600 babies a year and I thought that was alot!!! You certainly must have your hands full there!
Yeah, I totally love to take things from the hospital, too. Your not gonna believe this, but I stole a Halo Sleep Sack too and the hospital sent me a bill for it for $30 (MORE than I could buy one at Target or Babys r Us!!). I know they didn?t see me take it, so I told them I didn?t take one and they said they know I did cuz the sleep sack apparently has a micro-chip in it (the zipper I think) like they have at Target and it lets them know when it leaves the floor. So they just bill you for it instead of chasing you down! Crazy!!
