This isn’t exactly my craft project, but since it was there when most of it happened, I’m counting it. My mom and I had seen these patriotic topiaries on Pinterest and knew right away we wanted to make them. As usual, she got all the supplies and I just showed up to craft. I worked on a wreath for my SIL and my mom started on the topiaries. We figured out very quickly that we needed more ribbon than we had. When all was said and done, I believe about 8 rolls of ribbon (3 yards / roll) were used per topiary.
I don’t think this project was hard but I do believe it was time consuming. But really, what craft (that looks good anyways), isn’t time consuming?? I would post all the instructions and supplies, but I don’t want to act like we thought this all up on our own, so go here and follow her instructions! And just remember, buy ALOT of ribbon. Better to have too much than to have to go back to the store and find out they are out of the ribbon you already started using and then have to go back and redo 1/2 your craft. Not that this happened to us or anything!
Oh, and the best part of this idea? It can be used for any holiday. I already have big plans for Halloween. And heck, maybe I will even do this craft myself next time ;).
These are really cute. I have a box full of all kinds of odds and ends ribbon, I wonder if I could use it to make one of these…I’ll have to see if I have enough that actually coordinates together!
You are great with patience! I still *need* to do that wreath…maybe this weekend when my BFF comes up I can talk her into spending the weekend crafting – if I throw in drinks it may be more appealing!
I love those! Thank you for the wreath. The dogs think it is a fantastic round chew toy. It may find a new loving home on my Mom’s front door 🙂
That may be a much safer home!!!!
