- I am just wrapping up my first week home with my little boys and am having a great time! I even took all the boys, including Buddy, on a walk around the block. Well, L and Baxter drove. Buddy is the only thing that makes the walks crazy. I swear that little dog is nuts. He runs and barks the entire way.
- I love when the little boy next door comes over to play with L. He’s 6 and they play SO nice together. And they both have way more energy in their pinky fingers than I have in my whole body. They are a perfect match. And he’s old enough to do things that L doesn’t know how to do yet, like fill up the squirt guns so I don’t have to do it every two minutes for them.
- I offered to iron a few shirts for B this morning and he about fell over. He quickly ran to get two more shirts for me to do. LOL. I don’t think I ever told him I couldn’t iron, I just, uhh, prefer not too. Once when I was a kid I went to play at my friends house and her mom was ironing. I was like what are you doing??? I don’t think I had ever seen my mom doing that. Clearly the apple doesn’t far from the tree.
- I still can’t seen to understand why people can’t get a shower in when they are home alone with a baby / toddler / kids, whatever. I was reading a post on a message board last night and it seemed that 90% of the moms that responded didn’t shower when they were home alone with their kids. Umm really?? In in my first week alone with the kids, I have showered daily, dyed my hair and painted my toenails. It’s fine if kids cry for a few minutes. I swear. As one of my girlfriends said, “I can sing louder than they can cry”.
- I also do not understand why people seem surprised they get so little sleep and are so tired with a newborn. Really? What did you think it would be like getting up every 2.5 – 3 hours? I won’t lie, I get tired. But it’s to be expected.
- We went to the outdoor mall yesterday and I let L get lime green crocs and Thomas the Train rainboots. He has wanted the Thomas boots forever and talks about them every time we go to Nordstrom (aka his favorite store since it has escalators and elevators and fish and balloons). I am not sure which B hated more, the Jibbits filled crocs or the Thomas boots????
I agree about the showering. I always seemed to manage a shower, even if it meant leaving a crying baby in the crib for 10 minutes. When they got a little older they would throw bigger fits, and when they could sit up I would just bring them in the shower with me if I had to. Can’t go without my shower, lol!
the reason I can’t shower when Z is awake is because she will play in the trash, play in the toilet, hang out in the bath tub, try to escape…among many other things. Trust me, girlfriend has been known to cry it out MANY times in this house 🙂
I’m with you..I always took a shower. When my kids were babies I would put them in their bouncy seat in the bathroom with me. No problem!
Mom used to iron for me.
?I can sing louder than they can cry?. HA! Love it.
