As you know, L has his own iPad. Yeah, it’s insane. And totally necessary. We are a 3 iPad family and proud of it. We are soon to be a 4 iPad family since I just won one over the weekend (*). It’s too bad that W is still too little for his own iPad ;). I’m not sure that any of L’s (Favorite) Apps are overly educational, but he certainly enjoys them. And let’s be honest, it keeps him more than entertained on car rides up-north, in doctors waiting rooms, etc. In fact, when we were at his 4 year old well visit, his pedi came in and was watching him play one of his games and was highly impressed. It is very amazing that he understands the games so well considering that he cannot read. And fine, I’ll just say it. He’s better than I am at 99% of these games.

Where’s My Perry: This is just like Where’s My Water except with Perry from Phineas and Ferb. At least that’s how I see it. I am sure there are differences. Do I know them? No. The description of the app from the website says: Where’s My Perry is a challenging physics-based puzzler where you need to use water in all its different forms, ice, steam and liquid, to solve the puzzle. Overflowing with intuitive controls, vibrant spy-themed graphics, and best of all, lasers, you will be immersed in the world of Agent P!
To me it’s just hard. It says it’s for ages 6+, but maybe once you get to a certain age it just gets over your head?

Bag It: I just downloaded Bag It! for L a few days ago after reading about it in USA Today. I really like this app (maybe because I don’t suck at it) because it makes L think when he bags the groceries. Umm, watermelons can’t go on top of chips! This may also serve L well for a future job at Kroger. This one also is best for ages 6+. But again I’m not sure those age recommendations mean anything.

Rail Maze: Rail Maze is another game that confuses me. However, L loves it and has mastered all the levels. This is the game the doctor say him playing and was all, what is this game, it looks impossible. Basically you have to fix the tracks in the right direction so your train doesn’t crash. I can handle it at first but once there are like 9,000 different tracks / directions, I’m over it.

I know there are more apps that L loves, but these are his current favorites! Are we missing anything over here? Any suggestions? Oh, and somehow L finds apps he wants to download. All this blows my mind. How does he find age appropriate apps for himself? Sure he can’t read or spell. But he’s got that iPad mastered. Thank goodness he doesn’t know my password!
