L bailed on us this weekend and went up-north with his Nana and Papa. And had a ball. Between swimming, jumping off the dock, sliding down the slide (head first) into the lake and going to ride the train, I don’t think he sat still for more than 5 minutes. At least that’s what it sounded like. And I am just going to venture a guess that he didn’t miss B and I one bit?? I think it’s awesome that he gets to go off and do big boy stuff. I’d hate for him to miss out on anything fun because of W, so I am super thankful that my parents take him up-north. Let’s be honest, little W doesn’t want to play out on the lake all day. Or ride on a mini train. He wants to sleep in a cozy place and drink (or not drink depending on his mood) bottles.
I spent most of the Friday / Saturday catching up on my sweepstakes (I was so so so behind) and blogging. I mean, in between taking care of W of course. And of course I did laundry. Made some phone calls, you know, normal stuff us retirees do. B worked on staining L’s swingset (it’s looking like new), cutting the grass and doing other B type stuff. He also dragged me out to get fro-yo. Â Seriously. Â He made me. Â And then he forced me to fill my cup with Cake Batter, Brownie Batter and Red Velvet Cake. Â That B! Â And of course, he ran in the Warrior Dash yesterday. L wasn’t home yet, so just W and I went to watch him run. These races always crack me up. Â He got enough donations for St. Jude to qualify for the hospitality tent, which W and I took total advantage of. Â Hello shaded tent for me and my baby!
And I cannot forget the Games. Â Like the rest of the world, I settled in on Friday to watch the Opening Ceremony. Â And screw you NBC for not letting me watch it live on the internet. Â Every Games I look so forward to watching the Opening Ceremony. Â And during every show, I think, “this is so weird”. Â Seriously, if someone has to explain what I am watching, is it really worth me watching? Â Shouldn’t I just be able to follow along? Â Like a friend of mine said, it’s like having to put a name tag on your Halloween costume.
Oh and I almost forgot. Â W and I hit up the Target toy clearance on Friday. Â We picked up some cheap Moon Dough for L (he loves that stuff) and a new tummy time toy for W. Â We went kind late so there wasn’t much left, but I am pleased with our finds!
What’d you do this weekend? Â Let’s hear it!

You have parents who help with the kids AND a husband who looks good in a Speedo????? I guess I’m jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂
