September Birchbox Man Review

So B loved his first Birchbox Man. Loved it. In fact, ever since the first one arrived at the beginning of August, he’s been asking when the next one’s coming. Well today was the day! Here’s what he got in the September box:

~Oribe Ultra Gentle Shampoo ($25):  Umm, based on the description (it prevents hair from looking “unhealthy”), I need this, not B.  He’s good about taking care of his hair.  And it’s pretty healthy.
~Oribe Ultra Gentle Conditioner ($25):  I don’t mind the foil sample packets because I always shower at home, but B showers at the gym most mornings, so it’s not like it’s realistic to tote these around more than 1x.  He’s going to have to wait to try them on a weekend so he can get more than one use out of them.  Or he could give them to me (this will never happen).
~CoSTUME NATIONAL Scent Intense ($140):  Umm, B got this exact same sample last month.  Granted he loved it, but would never actually buy it because it’s $140, so the sample was welcomed, but come on, he just got it last month.  Isn’t the entire point to try new stuff?
~ZIRH Clean ($20): B has always wanted to try ZIRH products but for one reason or another hasn’t gotten around to it, so he was super excited to see this face wash in his box.  I’m guessing this sample will be used up the fastest.
~Balla Powder ($15): I really don’t know (or care to know) about B’s need for this.  I am guessing he has no need for it since I’ve never seen any sort of product like this in his collection.  My fear is that he will use this, love it and discover that he really does need it.  B loves products.  Seriously.
~Me Undies Boxer Briefs ($32/2 pair): This is what I was most excited about.  I knew B would love these.  He’s a stylish guy and wants all of his clothes to be stylish.  Plus, when he wears his pants super low and sometimes you can see his underwe*r, so it has to be cool.  These alone are $16 (the box included one pair), so basically the rest of the box cost $4.  I’d say that’s a good deal.  Except for one thing.  They sent the wrong size.  WTF Birchbox?  It said that the right size was being shipped and we open it to find XL.  B’s butt is not giant.  I e-mailed Birchbox about exchanging them and I will report back.

We are totally thrilled with this month’s Birchbox (so long as they happily do an exchange because of THEIR error).  I am 100% sure he will be renewing his after his 3-month gift subscription runs out.  If you are on the fence about trying out Birchbox, I gotta say go for it.  Not only do you get a box filled with great stuff, but you can review your products every month for points.  So B got 6 products in his September box.  6 products = 60 points (10 points/review).  You can redeem points in increments of 100 (i.e. $10) at their shop.  So pretty much you spend $20 (or $10 on Birchbox woman) and end up a box full of fun goodies and $5 or $6 to spend in their store (which features tons of difference brands that have been featured in previous month’s boxes.  I really don’t see how you can go wrong.

**You know the drill by now. You click and buy, I get credit at Birchbox. I only put this here because I don’t want to get in trouble from the FTC (like they almost read here). And because I don’t want to trick you. Maybe you don’t want me to get the credit. I mean, you should, but whatever floats your boat.**

Spread the love
