Groupon had a deal a few months ago for Barkbox (it’s not valid anymore but maybe it will be back?). Baxter and Buddy were feeling a little left out since they didn’t get any monthly subscription boxes, so I thought why not and bought it. Plus, I think we all know how well Groupon and I get along at 4am ;). I got the 6/month sunscription for $60 (plus I had some Groupon bucks so it was even cheaper), so I am paying only $10/month. I believe a 6/month subscription is usually $17.50/month. So by spending money, I am saving money. Make sense?
My first BarkBox arrived today and we tore right into it. Here is what it included:
West Paw Design “Hurley” Toy ($8): According to the information sheet, this is “a tossable, floatable, and chewable toy that’s a bone and a stick combined”. My dogs are NOT big chewers (Buddy did chew through a MacBook cord years ago when he was a puppy, but he’s over that), so I’ll never know if it’s really that durable. But I see that they do have a one-time refund or replacement guarantee, so it might be worth a try if you do have a crazy chewer.
LA Fresh Pet Wipes ($.20): Okay, first of all, who knew such a thing even existed? My dogs do get into their fair share of trouble (i.e. messes), so I am for sure going to try this. I only wish they would have included more than one!
Whole Life Pet Sweet Potato Treats – 1.5oz ($2.99): I am sure the furries will gobble these right up. I personally would try them if I were a dog. They are totally organic too if you (or your dog) is into that sort of thing. Also included in the box was a sample of Whole Life Freeze-Dried Fresh Pure Chicken Treats. Mine was broken into little pieces but I don’t think the dogs will care.
Barkworthies Angus Power Bar ($6.43): This is also a very safe healthy treat since it is made from 100% natural-grass fed angus beef and has no hormones, antibiotics, steroids or smoking agents added. Umm, since when did my dogs start eating better than I do? My only fear about this is that it will make a mess. I am picturing little pieces of beef (?) all over my house. Please please please don’t let this be the case!
Zukes Dental Z-Bones (3 Flavors) ($1.29/each): I can only hope that Baxter and Buddy like these since yeah, their breathe smells like….dog. And they clean teeth? Bonus. Baxter has worse teeth than Austin Powers so I am excited about these!
Wag.com Coupon Code ($10): I don’t even really want to value this code at $10 since I doubt you will be able to spend just $10, so I am not including it in my total. Plus, this is only for first time orders. If you have ordered before, you are out of luck. I’ve never ordered before, but I’m just saying…..
All totaled (not including the coupon code), I got a value of $21.49 for everything in the box. Considering I only paid $10, that’s a deal! They have boxes for both small and large sized dogs (we got the small sized one), but I am curious to know what came in the large box? Interested in signing up? Click here and use coupon code “RAMBLING10” to save $10.
Disclosure: As always, you click, I get free stuff. Well, my dogs will get free stuff. And they will thank you!
We just got this box too but for a Large Dog. Our toy was different, we did not get the beef stick we received a bully/Billy stick and received one Large Z bone.
