October bluum Box

This month’s bluum box theme was “Magical Moments” and was described on the card as “Celebrate all the magical moments you’ll experience during your little one’s first year.” And as always, like with all boxes, I didn’t totally understand the theme. I like the idea of a theme, but I do think it’s got to be very hard to actually put together and make everyone understand.

First Look

Of all the bluum boxes I have received, I think this is my favorite so far.  Here’s what was inside:

The information card.

And here are the details:

Disney Cuddly Bodysuit ($5): I think I shared my love for white onesies on here a million times, so I was THRILLED to get this in the box.  I usually buy Gerber brand (in the 5-pack from Target) and actually didn’t even know Disney made onesies.  These are kind of different than other onesies in that they have two sets of snaps, so they grow with your baby (and hopefully last longer).  I cannot wait to try this!!

Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash ($1.58): I don’t think I have never tried anything from the Burts Bees Baby Bee line, so I am anxious to test this out.  While I doubt I will switch from The Honest Co. line, but I will for sure use this the next time we travel and see how I like it.

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream ($1.50): I wasn’t exactly aware that Burt’s Bees had a skin care line.  This product is “clinically proven to provide intense hydration, it also helps reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, so you wake up to skin that feels soft, supple and smooth”.  Umm, okay.  Sold.  This is going to be one of the products in next week’s sample hoard challenge.

Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer ($5): I will for sure throw this in my diaper bag in case I need a little color on my lips.  It’s right up my alley because it’s supposed to moisturize your lips, which I NEED.  If I was on a desert island and had to pick between my iPhone or my lip balm, it’d be a rough decision.

Happy Baby and Happy Tot Pouches ($1.59):   We got the Happy Baby Pouch (level 2) in broccoli, peas & pear.  Frankly, that sounds gross to me, but I am 100% WB will like it.  I love pouch foods and I totally wish they would have been out when L was little!

By my calculation, the box has a value of $14.67, which is clearly more than the $11/month cost and the $6/month that I am paying (I ordered a while back when Plum District had a deal).

Like Birchbox, bluum has a system where you review products and earn points (for free boxes).  Only I cannot for the life of me figure out how it works.  I always get errors.  They are in the middle of doing some revamping, so maybe that’ll fix it?  Part of their revamping has been a change in their packaging.  Previously they used the “box within a box” method.  Like Birchbox.  Now, it’s just a (bigger) box with the products inside.  I like it way better because I feel like I am getting more stuff.  And because it’s less waste.

You will LOVE the Burt’s Bees stuff, I have been using it almost exclusively on my boys for years. I ordered the Honest Company box to try theirs and went right back to it. It smells wonderful, gets them squeaky clean and is totally gentle. Their skin care line is also fabulous, I use their face wash and moisturizer and always have their chap-stick on hand. I swear I am not from Burts Bees – lol but their products are great 🙂

Does everyone recieve the same boxes? I got exactly the same products. I’m not happy with it at ALL. My daughter is 17 months old, and by no means can she wear a 6-9 month onesie. She doesn’t even eat baby food anymore. To me, this box was a huge waste of money.

OMG, they sent you a 6-9 month onesie? Really? That totally sucks! I’d be annoyed too. Have you written to them?
