A Few Updates…

~OMG, I totally thought that my Pay It Forward contest ended tonight at 11:59pm. Umm, no. Turns out it ended LAST night at 11:59pm. Oops. According to Random.org, the winners are as follows:

And those people would be:
#1: Judy L
#39: Braden
#2: A.C.
#31: sarah
#21: kara
I will be in contact to get your addresses!  And again, I have NO clue what I am going to send out yet, but you will be getting a fun surprise from me in the mail sometime this year!

~I am going to cancel my cable tonight. I’m just going to suck it up and do it.  I’m going to give it a month or two and see what happens.  If we hate it, we’ll sign back up!  If we love it.  Good.

~I deleted the “For Sale” tab and added a “Tupperware” tab instead.   I really didn’t have anything for sale anymore and this will give me the space to share current deals, things I’m loving, etc. And if you don’t care to read about it, you don’t have to.  It’s a win-win.

~I’m also working on a section listing everyone’s etsy stores, links, etc.  I might somehow consolidate that into my “Links I Love” section.

~And finally does anyone have any recommendations for a blog designer?  You know, someone to spice up my blog and make it all fancy?  My friend (who does my Christmas cards) usually does it for me, but I feel bad bugging her yet again, so I am looking for your help!

Spread the love

I don’t know if anyone posted before on your cable/hulu post but if your laptop has a plug for an HDMI cord then get one- plug it into your laptop and tv and you can watch anything online on your TV screen. We got rid of cable 3 years ago and I love TLC and Bravo but once they are gone you just don’t care. We use Hulu Plus and Netflix (instant) on our different consoles and anything on Hulu that doesn’t stream on a console (like Xbox or Wii) we use an HDMI cord to my laptop. A lot of channels you can watch online too- I watch shows like Project Runway online but on my TV with the cord.

Ohh, thank you for the tip! I am guessing after a month or so I won’t even know it’s gone!

I got rid of my cable over 3 years ago and I don’t even miss it. I recently moved into a new place (about 6 months ago) and for $22 added to my rent I get Dish Network. I thought, “Hell yeah, satilite and hundreds of channels for only $22.” I don’t even watch it! I watch maybe 5-6 TV shows regularly but with school and work I never make the time that they actually air and end up watching them online when I have time! Most shows upload to the network sites about 2-3 days after they first air and I do the same if I want to watch on my TV. But I don’t use a HDMI cord. My laptop has a VGA port and most flat screens have one as well. I leave the cord plugged into my TV and just hook my laptop up to it when I’m ready! SO easy! And I am ADDICTED to Netflix and HuluPlus. I tend to start watching shows that I never watched or got into that most people watched years ago…like Nip/Tuck, Prison Break, Bones, Psych, etc. and they have almost all the seasons available on Netflix then I use Hulu to catch up on the current season, all at my own convienence. My son loves Netflix for kids and its awesome because he is exposed to more TV shows than what is offered on TV. I say, CANCEL! 🙂

I’m on Day 3 of no cable and am doing okay without it! I found old these old MTV shows (Laguna Beach, The Hills, etc.) on Hulu and I love it!!

I do all our Capture a Moment website work. Send me a message as to what you are looking for. I can probably help you out, we are in our slower season right now and with the bad knees I’m not able to do much anyway. :/ You really should bite the bullet and get your own domain. I host all our stuff.
