We have a salad chain near us (Salad Creations) that makes the best chopped salads. I like it better than The Big Salad, which we also have here because the employees are so friendly, the owner is great and well, it’s just awesome.
So anyways, they have this special tool they use to chop their salads and I always admire it when I am in there. A few months ago, I discovered that they also SELL this in the restaurant! But I never remembered to get one when I was there. But B remembered one day when he was there(*) and surprised me with it on Christmas! And last night, I used it for the first time. I am in love. It’s much faster and easier than using a knife or a pizza cutter like I used to. And for some reason, chopped salads taste 100x better than unchopped salads. Why is this exactly?
But when I was talking to some out of state friends, I realized that not everyone has a Salad Creations near them. And then it got us talking about other franchises / chains we don’t have and wish we did! I personally wish we had a Cheesecake Factory, In-N-Out Burger, Which Wich and a Jamba Juice here in Michigan. My favorite chains / franchises are Salad Creations, Potbelly and Menchies. Oh, and Pita Pit, which is a new favorite of mine!
If you liked chopped salads, I suggest you get your hands on a Salad Creations chopper! And what are your favorite chains? I hear Chop’t is a fun salad chain too (we don’t any here). What else am I missing out on?
I heard from a knowledgeable source that Cheesecake Factory is coming to Twelve Oaks!
Oh, Vicki, tell me more!?

Yes, when is this happening? Should we get in line now because I am guessing it’s going to be CRAZY!
I dont know when but it’s going in where Tin Fish was 🙂
No Jamba Juice in Michigan? There’s one next to almost every Starbucks here. I wish we had Olive Garden!
We don’t have ANY of the restaurants you mentioned here in south central PA–and I’ve never eaten at any of them either. We have lots of other restaurants though–lately I like Moe’s and Chipotle, but we don’t eat out too often. I’m always on the lookout for coupons/sales, but with 2 young kids it’s not just the cost but the hassle of restaurant eating with young kids that keeps us away.
Oh my Gosh! I need this in my life! I always use a knife, but it’s such a pain. Chopped Salads are the best!
My favorite Chain is probably Chipotle and my boys love In N Out. Cheesecake Factory is good, but always SO crowded here. We have SO MANY chain restaurants here it’s sort of sick….there is a little breakfast place that opened a few months ago that’s not a chain and is fantastic. Makes me happy! 🙂
Girl you are such a bad influence on me!!! lol! I just ordered the amazon one bc it looks exactly the same! Hopefully it works the same! 🙂
Is that Salad place on 59? I always wanted to stop…chopped salads are better and that looks fun! I love choppin’! Shockingly, I’ve never been to any of your favorite restaurants!!?

Yes! It’s so good. You gotta stop! And you’ve never even been to PotBelly’s?? So good!
OK, I will…ha! I think there is one in Novi.
We have Outback Steakhouse here in Australia, which is where we go when we want American food and free refills. (you’d die if you knew what we pay for soft drink/soda/pop here).
I’ve been to the Cheesecake Factory in Cleveland many times, it’s probably best for my waistline that it doesn’t come here!
What a great idea. I never thought to use a pizza cutter to chop my salad. I am so going to start.
We have a Menchie’s, Which Wich, Jamba Juice and Cheesecake Factory here in Aurora/Denver Colorado, but no Salad Creations, Potbelly and Pita Pit. I also love Chipotle, Wing Stop, L & L BBQ and Sweet Tomatos, which is our Salad Joint here. I also heard that Denver just got a Steak & Shake but I have yet to discover its location, lol!
I would probably die without potbelly! We have pretty much everything in the metro area, except In-N-Out, of course. I would love to have one of those, but it’s probably for the best that it’s just a west coast treat!
