Nicely Noted

When the people over at Nicely Noted reached out and asked if I would like to try out a month, I jumped at the chance. I love trying out all these new subscription boxes and non-food / non-beauty ones always get me excited because I haven’t tried as many! In case you aren’t familiar, Nicely Noted is a stationery subscription service that delivers a curated batch of letterpress cards to your mailbox every month.

The Package

I had kinda forgotten what Nicely Noted was so I wasn’t sure what I had gotten from them. I thought someone had written me a note and got all excited!! And yes, if you send a package addressed just to “Jennifer”, I will indeed get it ;).

First Look

Once I opened it, I realized what it was.  And I was very excited to see that Perry, the Founder of Nicely Noted had included a handwritten note. I mean I get that’s the point of Nicely Noted, but it does take time and it really shows she loves what she does! Perry used to be the Online Director for Dwell magazine and Online Editor at W magazine (among other things), so yeah, she’s style and is going to help you send stylish things too.  And she has fabulous handwriting.

Okay, now here’s what was included:

~Wishbone Letterpress “Fish Scale Blue” Notecard ($2.50):  I will be the first to admit I know nothing about letterpressed cards, but I can tell you that these are FABULOUS.  The card is so nice and thick and the design is gorgeous.  I immediately ran to Etsy to see where I could get my hands on more of these!

~erik marinovich for enormouschampion “Hola Amigo” Notecard ($6.75): I couldn’t find this exact card online (I believe it’s limited edition), which makes me kinda sad because umm, this is awesome.  I love it.  enormouschampion has a ton of great cards in their online shop and I am excited I was able to find them through Nicely Noted!

~pistachio press “i love you” Card ($4.75): Guess who hasn’t bought her husband a Valentine’s Day card yet?  This girl.  Ha!  I squealed when I opened the package and saw this.  Not only is it perfect for Valentine’s, it’s beautiful.  I am even going to mail it to him because I think he’ll love that.  Sure I could leave it on the counter for him to find, but everyone loves getting mail and this will be way more fun!

~Forever Stamps (3) ($1.38): I didn’t realize that stamps were also includes so I was also overly excited to see these beauties in the package.  I’ll be the first to admit that I just slap on whatever boring stamp I have in the house and be done with it.  But when I get a fun stamp on a letter it makes me stop and look at the letter more closely.  These have inspired me to spice up my stamp buying habits!

Stamps

When totaled, I came up with a value of $15.38 for the package.  Yes, this is less than the $18/month cost of the subscription.  However, Nicely Noted “helps people discover new designers and enjoy the convenience of having the perfect card on hand”.  They do not bill themselves as a money saving subscription.  They are more about an experience and are hoping to inspire people to get back into the art of letter writing.

I cannot say enough good things about the cards I received.  I always try to include a hand written note with all the packages I send out and I’ve realized I need to step up my game.  These letterpressed cards are stunning.  So much nicer than the Target clearance cards I usually send.
