Edited to Add: The Little Book Club is no longer in business.
My highly anticipated package from The Little Book Club arrived yesterday and it did NOT disappoint. The Little Book Club is a brand-new book club that grows with your child. It’s $24.95/month and as your child grows and develops, the books that are sent become more advanced.
I was kinda just expecting a envelope full of books or something, but instead I got one of the cutest subscription boxes out there. I was impressed. Isn’t that box cute?
If you’ve been reading here a while, you know I am a total sucker for presentation. I love when the boxes are neat and organized. Once I opened The Little Book Club box, I knew this subscription was right up my alley. So nicely packed and is that a personalized envelope I spy? LOVE.
Yeah, it’s a personalized card ;). Instead of just throwing in the information card, they put it in an envelope with your child’s name on it. I got the subscription for WB, not L, so that they could share the books. And trust me, L was way more excited to see the books than WB was anyway!
The Little Book Club has monthly themes (Dinosaur Month”, “Colors Month”, “Adventure Month”, etc.), which are designed to be appropriate for your child’s current developmental level. This month’s theme was Colors!
And now, the best part, here’s what was inside:
~Press Here by Herve Tullet ($10.87): OMG. When I saw this book peeking out when I opened the box, it made my day. Somehow I have forgotten to order this every single time I have placed an order at Amazon. And yeah, I’ve seen it at Target, but books always cost more there. So to say I was thrilled to see this book was an understatement for sure.
~Black on White by Tana Hoban ($6.29): This book has no words. Just black shapes with a white background. L has already read to WB a few times. WB is totally fascinated by it. Just stares at the high-contrast images.
~Orange Pear Apple Bear by Emily Gravett ($9.97): We haven’t read this yet, but it looks great. I think L has said the title no less than 20 times since we got it in the mail yesterday. Orange Pear Apple Bear! It’s catchy no?
All totaled, the February Little Book Club had a value of $27.13. I loved the idea behind The Little Book Club but wondered if it would be cost effective you know? Turns out it is!! The subscription is $24.95/month, so not only were we introduced to 3 new books, we saved money!! What’s not to love? I’m pretty sure we are going to continue to subscribe!

OMG! I love this… but I think it’s a little pricey at $25 every month! I hope their have Limited Editions and things. Books! Sigh!
Also I love love love the little envelope with WB’s name on it… personalized touch is really sweet. And these books are awesome.
Um this is a great box! I’m always wanting new books for Mackenzie but I’m never sure what to get.
What a great idea! And how cute that L has started reading to his little brother. Hope you got pictures!
I think they picked great books! $25 is a little pricey, but I am impressed by it.
We also received ours yesterday. My son is two and a half so his theme is ‘counting’ ( he also got the ‘Orange, Pear, Apple Bear’ book). I really loved the packaging and the personal touches like address label and the note. Sadly, I had no time to take pictures because he got to the package so quickly . I know the subscription is little pricey but we will be visiting book stores less often.
(I really love your blog!!!)
Oh. I love this one!! I have subscription box envy. Im going to have to narrow down which of these subscription boxes I want. Because, really I want all of them. And we know that’s not in the budget.
I want to get this so bad it hurts. Owen loves books more than any other toy out there. He will sit in his room just looking through books by himself for a really long time. I may have to give it a try. I have wanted that Press Here book for a while too. It looks so cute.
what a great idea… I also want to mention I signed my kids up for the dolly Patton (I hate auto correct but it is the singer) imaginary library and every month they get a brand new book free until they are five…
Hey everyone!! Plum District has a deal for half off The Little Book Club today! See http://www.tinyurl.com/littlebookclub for more info.
I saw this on Plum District and thought what the heck, why not try it. While $25 dies appear to be a little pricey it’s really no different than buying 3 books yourself BUT the reason I signed up was fir a couple reasons. 1. When I’m out and about and I see a children’s book can cost upwards of $15 for one book I get discouraged and put it back :/. 2. Chances are I’m not always going to buy a new book everytime at the store let alone 3 in one moth so this helps me out. Lastly.. When picking out book to purchase I have a habit of picking up books I like… Not necessarily what my child may like (then again she’s only 3mo but I want to start establishing a decent collection, especially since we read everyday!). With this I believe the collection will grow to books of all sorts that both her daddy and I will want to read. I’m still anxiously waiting to receive my first month books so hopefully I will be as satisfied as you!!
Sorry for all the typos :/
Could this box fit in and apartment building sized mailbox? I still haven’t gotten this box for March:( I just got Wittlebee today and that shipped a week or so later than The Book Club did…I am just paranoid it’s lost or something…lol.
Have signed up almost a month ago, have not received anything yet. Cannot find a contact number. Help anyone.
