Edited to Add: The Little Book Club is no longer in business.
Our March The Little Book Club arrived today and I was SO excited to get it. I had seen some other people’s themes and loved them all and was super anxious to see what we would get. In case you don’t know, The Little Book Club is a brand-new book club that grows with your child. It’s $24.95/month and as your child grows and develops, the books that are sent become more advanced.
The Little Book Club ships in a super cute box and comes addressed to the child you signed up for the club, not you. WB doesn’t appreciate it (yet), but I loved getting mail as a kid! I should mention that The Little Book Club ships via USPS Media Mail which is slower than all other types (like Priority Mail). So if you are waiting on your package and wondering where it is, it’s coming! Slowly!
I think I mentioned it before, but I subscribe to The Little Book Club for WB (he’s 11 months). I figure that they both will enjoy the books this way and they won’t be too old for WB. If L (he’s almost 5) starts to outgrow the books, I may sign him up for a separate subscription, but right now it’s working out perfect!
Our theme this month was “Dinosaurs”, which L was so excited about. We had to go to the Post Office to pick up our box (*) and L and I tried to guess what the theme was the entire way home. We didn’t guess Dinosaurs, but were thrilled it was our theme!
~“How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?” by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague ($10.63): This is a perfect bedtime book! I love reading books about going to bed at bedtime. Even dinosaurs have to go to bed you know?
~“Dinosaur Roar” by Paul & Henrietta Strickland ($5.27): This book is all about opposites, which is perfect for L! He is fairly good with opposites, but ANY chance to read, learn, practice, etc. he’s up for. He listens to stories like I can’t even believe. He gets so into them and I love it!
~“Oh My Oh My Oh Dinosaurs” by Sandra Boynton ($6.25): Eeek! We love Sandra Boynton books (who doesn’t) and we picked this book (along with one of our nightly Easter books) to read tonight. L “read” it to WB, which about melted by heart. Are they not the cutest?
All totaled, The March Little Book Club “Dinosaurs” has a value of $22.15. A little shy of the $24.95/month cost of the box, but I could care less. Plus, I used Amazon prices, which aren’t what you’d pay at your local bookstore or Target you know? I love love love The Little Book Club and so do the kids! Oh yeah and I don’t know how they do it, but once again, we didn’t have any of these books!!

Wow I can’t believe they didn’t deliver books. LOL I hate when I have to go to the PO to pick up a package. For some reason I have to pass 2 almost 3 other real POs before I get to the one that keeps my boxes. Its horrible.
Mine was delivered fine…not sure why they wouldn’t deliver it. Our theme was Days of the Week and we had one book. Waiting to see if we will get a credit?
We just got the same box yesterday. We already had a couple of the books. We didn’t have ‘How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight’, though, and my twins loved it! I read it over and over! We will be getting a $12.50 refund for already owning the other books. I’m already anxious for next month!
We got the days of the week too. The books are really cute and my son loves them! The picture of L reading to WB makes me want to have another baby! They’re so cute together!!
That picture of L reading to WB makes my ovaries ache! Well it would if I still had them! haha! So so sweet!!
Your boys are too cute! I love those socks and that candy!
We got an space/moon theme for my 3 year old daughter, which was PERFECT because for the last week she’s kept saying she wanted to be an astronaut.
My adopted little brother has the “How Do Dinosaurs Say Good Night?” one and it is the cutest book! So glad you got it!
I know you added up prices from Amazon, but if you add up the actual cost of the books, it comes to $30+…I normally buy from B&N because I have a membership there, but this is a great deal if you take into account the book price:)
We (well Mikaela) received her books the other day after what I felt was a very long and anticipated wait.. Dang media mail!! 🙂 Her theme this month was the body (she’s 3 months). The books included were Baby Faces, All of Baby Nose to Toes and Where is Baby’s Belly Button. All the books were pretty cute.. Much like the packaging!
Wish they had something like this when I was a kid. Or when my nephew was smaller, as I so would have given this to him! The picture of L reading to WB is too cute!
Hi,
I was just wondering if you have heard from Little Book Club about April boxes being shipped yet? I haven’t heard anything and now I’m worried again because last month they emailed me in the first week of the month saying my box shipped and then it took almost 4 weeks to get it(which I understand since it’s Media Mail). I just want to make sure I’m getting one this month:)
I’ve been reading your blog for a while as I’m just discovering the world of monthly subscription boxes. I melt a little every time I see a pic of your boys, but have never posted. That is, until this pic of L reading to WB. That is THE cutest, sweetest thing I have ever seen. You should seriously frame that, and hang a copy in each of their rooms, and get extra copies to give to them when they grow up, and move out so they can remember what a great brother they have in each other. Can you tell it struck a nerve? Fab blog; thanks for the great reviews!
