Tuesday Troubles

It’s time for another edition of Tuesdays’s Troubles. I’ve said it before, but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is.

  • In what is possibly the biggest (first world) trouble this week, my beloved Sex In The City slot machine is GONE from my favorite local casino (MGM Grand Detroit).  Yeah, my mom and I went yesterday (*) and it was all gone.  Pretty sure I almost cried.  I didn’t even get to say goodbye ;(.  There are other casinos in Detroit and you better bet I am going to one of the other ones next time in search of it.
  • So my Spartans are playing basically in my backyard in the first and second rounds of the tournament and I am trying to decided if I should go to the second game (Saturday) or not.  Pros to going would be seeing my Spartans in the post-season and taking L to his first college basketball game.  Cons would include an increase in my stress levels / blood pressure if it’s a close game and the possibility it could be expensive since everyone else wants to see them play too.
  • My bruise (from falling down the stairs) is healing nicely.  However, it itches like you wouldn’t even believe.  I have never had a bruise itch before, but Dr. Google assures me this is normal.  It’s super annoying though.
  • Somehow without my realizing it, WB turns 11 months-old today.  This is troubling in that I almost forgot and also because I have to get him to sit still in his crib long enough for me to take a picture with his “11 months” onesie sticker on.  I can’t say that I will miss taking those pictures, but I will miss having a “baby” in the house.  Soon I will have a toddler.
  • Speaking of babies, whenever I see a newborn I think “I must get another one of these at once”.  But when I see a super pregnant woman wrangling two (or more) kids around, I think “like h*ll I’m having another”. Plus, I am not sure if I can gear myself up for vomiting for 20+ weeks.  However, I do love those newborns and the thought of never having another one in my house makes me sad!

That’s it from here for now! What’s troubling you today?

(*) Don’t judge me for going to the casino on a Monday Morning.  That’s when all the other retirees go!!

I was totally sick for like 22 weeks of my pregnancy! It was awful, but I do agree I would love an infant to just appear sometimes!! 😉

  2. MurdocksMama

Newborns make me go through those emotions too! They’re so adorable and fun {especially when you don’t have night duty with them! :} I’m 5 weeks away from delivering my 2nd and although I want a larger family, I can’t even imagine being pregnant and wresting TWO toddlers! Where do some moms find the energy?! 🙂

  3. Carly

Um can we please talk about the weather? THAT is troubling me.

  4. Kayleigh

I HATE when they get rid of something I love without warning me. They did that with our favorite restaurant. We were there like twice a week. Once we called and the phone was disconnected. It was BS! Hope the other casinos still have it!

Part of me wants another one two… But the I think about all the naps I took the first time I was preggers and all the mornining sickness… And I can’t fathom doing that with a kid already here… I may be a one and done type of girl, even though I always pictured having two or more.

This weather is bugging me….come on Spring I need to get out of this house and enjoy some nice weather. Is that too much to ask for?

  7. I’ve never seen a SATC slot machine, but now I so badly want to try and find one… I’ve never been to the gambling town Black Hawk/Central City in my state yet and I’m 31…. Hmmm… I told Tim he must take me post-haste!

I filled out my bracket yesterday, yea, totally didn’t see the other bracket down below and couldn’t figure out why ESPN wouldn’t let me submit, lol! I finally got it filled out though… really didn’t pay attention to who was playing I just randomly started clicking names and that was a lot of fun!

Happy to hear your bruise is healing nicely… I’ve had itchy bruises and they tended to be the big honking painful ones too… I don’t really get it either…

I cannot believe little WB is going to be 1 next month…. I’ve very much enjoyed watching him grow-up and I very much will enjoy hearing and seeing his toddler antics!

Oh and I totally think you and B need another baby… I’m hoping for a girl… her big brothers would be sooo protective!!! Do it, you know you want too!!!! And I have not once had a bout of morning sickness, knock on wood, just a lot of painful cramping which the doctor assures is ok… sometimes I don’t believe her…

Ugh, I swear there is something I’ve been dying to tell you and for the life of me I cannot remember what it is… My brain has seriously left the building… Well if I remember I know where you are!!!

My Tuesday troubles is that I have had a migraine for the past 3 days and my husband won’t be here until tonight. As much as I love my 3 month old he sure doesn’t help my nagging noggin!

P.s. I don’t judge you for the Monday morning gambling. In fact, I envy you! I want to go to Vegas. Maybe for my brithday.

Nothing wrong with a casino trip on a Monday! I bet they had $5/hand blackjack too–no fair! 🙂

I kinda want another, but it’s not happening…3 is more than enough for us. hopefully we’ll just get another niece or nephew in the next year or two–then I’ll have a baby to spoil 🙂

So I have to commiserate on the bruise thing—I somehow fell down the bottom couple of stairs in our house while holding my 6 month old, so to avoid hurting HIM I fell right on my knees and used my arms to brace him. I have HORRIBLE rainbow bruises on both knees (its been almost a week since it happened too!) and my arm muscles were so sore…oddly enough.

Also, my Tuesday Trouble is that I bought a pair of boots I absolutely love and they’re just a little too tight (on my LEFT foot, but not my right), and they don’t have any bigger sizes available, and I can’t find them anywhere else… 🙁 Now I have to return them AND pay return shipping. And they were over half off too!

I’m annoyed that I have like 30 pairs of jeans and only 3 fit. My youngest son is 3 and I’ve yet to get this weight off. I guess the “I just had a baby” excuse won’t fly anymore. So… I guess I’m also annoyed that junk food is so good!

  12. Shelby

I think I’ve seen a SATC slot machine at Turtle Creek, but thats a bit of a drive for you, and probably nothing compared to the casinos down there lol. The MJ one is pretty good though! I also like the penguin machine. 🙂

Hmm what’s troubling me today? Everyone is leaving for Florida and we are still.here.in.snow! grr.

  13. Kristin S

    Love me some slots!

Troubling me today…my legs. Post half marathon from Sunday without proper training and after taking a spill in the street on the way TO the run. Yeah…my knee looks like a third graders and I only wish the bod was that young because then I might not look like Frankenstein when I walk! 😉

    1. everyone in my neighborhood has a lawn service (my dear h is my lawn service) which come like clock work to a different house surrounding me. Today on my Left. They sound like they are in my HOUSE!! Fridays to my right. One neighbor over Monday, Another neighbor across from us Thursday. People behind us Wednesdays. The GIGANTIC Mowers that barley fit on the lawn, the weed wackers that follow another 20 minutes, then the blowers to blow all the Cr@p pack into the lawn another 20 minutes. UGH Make it END. This happens EVERY WEEK. There is no silence in the Burbs.

    2. Thank you tree pollen for making poor gunner itch like a mad man. Thank you tree pollen for covering my car that dear H just spent Saturday morning shinning and buffing. It is now coated with the stuff that makes my dog itch.

OMG Seriously with the MOWERS!! Must leave the house and go shopping. LOL

Just FYI the Rio in Vegas had the SATC game. That’s where I played last week. 😉 I wish there were closer casinos to me so I could go occasionally but nope they are all too far for a day trip and that game is addicting.

  16. Alena P

I forgot to write this morning, that I absolutely love gambling…I would be the girl to lose her life savings because “let me play one more time, this time I will win!!” 🙂

  17. Sara

I am sooo troubled by the fact that it is snowing in NY in March. Soooo over the snow.

  18. Mary Q.

My mother always told me an itchy bruise meant it was healing, so that’s good! Usually I don’t even know I have a bruise until it starts itching. What’s that song? “I bruise easily…”

  19. Ashley C.

Ahhh baby fever! I love teeny tiny babies. So I know your pain, there. But as the mom of a 14 month old who still doesnt sleep longer than 2-3 hours in a row at night, and a 3 year old who didn’t sleep through the night until a few months AFTER her brother was born, I can safely say I wouldnt want another little one, simply for that matter. Thank God we have a permanent fix in place! : ]

  20. Jill

Made my bracket last night! Zags got a #1 seed!

  21. Jodi

That sucks about your slot machine!!! Lol!! I hope you find it!
And your kids are too cute to not have another one!! Come on!!

I have been set on three, but the way my second ISN’T sleeping is really making me reconsider!!
