My April Birchbox seemed to take forever to get to me this month. I know they ship them out in waves and mine must have shipped in one of the later waves. I knew what was in it (I always peek), but it’s still nice to actually get it in your hands.
I am skipping the picture of the outer box this month because it was the same as always. But the inner box was wrapped in a special sleeve to celebrate the colaboration with Women’sHealth. Â I love Birchbox special edition boxes. Â They pair up with some fun companies and it keeps them fresh!
I can’t explain why, but I get really excited when I see that the some of the items are wrapped, or in this case, in a special sleeve. Â I mean, I know what they are, but more unwrapping makes them even more fun!
The April Birchbox theme is “tiny tweaks, big results” and was a joint effort between Birchbox and Women’sHealth. Â This month’s box was put together by the beauty and wellness experts at Women’sHeath and was designed to help you fine-tune your lifestyle. I received box #38 (*) this month (there were 40 total boxes). Â Here’s what was inside:
~Skin&Co Bagnodoccia Body Gel ($2.80): I’m not sure how to describe the scent of this shower gel, but I don’t love it.  It kind of reminds me of what I’d use at a fancy hotel. I don’t hate it, but it’s not something I would buy for myself.
~Nexxus® Youth Renewalâ„¢ Rejuvenating Elixir ($3): This is a shine boosting serum for your hair which is suppose to cure dry strands and age related breakage.  I have been using Moroccan Oil and have been loving it, so I can’t wait to see how this compares!
~StriVectin-SD™ Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles ($16): I got a sample of a different type of StriVectin-SD in my January bluum box and loved it, so I was super excited that my box included this.  I am on the hunt for a good eye cream and maybe this will be it!
~Youngblood Anti-Shine Mattifier ($7.20): For some reason, I expected this to be a full size, so I was a little disappointed to hear that it wasn’t. Â This shine-zapping balm is applied on the T-zone before applying foundation to get a matte finish. Â This has me totally interested and I wonder how it’s going to work! Â I will for sure report back on this because I don’t know if I have ever seen a product like this. Â Have you??
~Weleda Body Lotion ($0.94): I don’t know if I have ever tried tried anything from Weleda before (maybe I have tried their baby line), but these seem great. Â I love that they included various scents so you can smell them all!
~Women’sHealth Subscription ($9.99): This month’s box also includes an annual subscription to Women’sHealth magazine. Â But if you are not interested in that, you can request a refund which would make this box FREE for you! Â I think I am going to subscribe though because I could use some health info!
All totaled, I came up with a value of $39.93 for the April Birchbox. Plus the $5 in points I will get for reviewing the items and the $1 (**) I got for buying the box brings the value to $45.93. Awesome since the box only costs $10. I love seriously Birchbox and will likely always subscribe.
Do you subscribe to Birchbox? What’d you get in this month’s box? And if you don’t subscribe and want to get on the waiting list (does anyone know how long it is right now) or just want to learn more, click here!
Ooh you got an awesome box! I wanted to try that Youngblood mattifier and the Stri-Vectin looks good too 🙂
I actually wasn’t expecting to like mine this month but it was one of my favorites!
I have to get over the hang up about aging products and give them a try. But enough with the wrinkle creams already! *L*
I received the StriVectin-SD Eye Concentrate in this month’s BB Man (apparently, they want to sell eye cream to everybody this month)… I have to tell you, for me personally, I get groggy after I put it on… perhaps I’m crazy – but it makes my eye area feel heavy, which, in turn, makes me sleepy! Or, again, maybe I’m just not getting enough sleep and am blaming it on the eye cream!
Who was the winner of the April favorite things giveaway?? I don’t know if I missed the post or not…
My very first Birchbox is due Monday per tracking. Can’t wait to see what items come inside mine. I am interested in the anti-aging choices that you received, but I think I will be happy to try anything.
I looooove your blog! I turn to it for all things box reviews and info! Speaking of which, do you understand the instructions on the women’s health card? If we opt for the 9.99 “refund” it won’t cancel our box subscription, will it?
I wish I loved this box…. it’s such a good a deal. But I ended up canceling after this month. I just never really love anything in Birchbox. Wish I did for the price!
I got the same box as you, I loved it! I’ve been a subscriber to Birchbox for 15 months and it’s a great service.
We’re box twins 🙂
I was so excited to get the Youngblood Mattifier and get to try it out.
I totally agree with you on the scent of the shower gel. I got that in my box as well. However, I loved how it made my skin feel. I haven’t really decided if I want to get it or not in a larger size. I’m also subscribing for a free year to the magazine too!
How do you get the refund for the magazine?
Got my box a week or so ago, but haven’t tried anything yet. I did notice today on my FB newsfeed that Birchbox is going to have a special “GOLD” box… intriguing to say the least 🙂
I haven’t gotten my April Birchbox yet!!! I even forgot about it until just now. I need to see about my tracking info.
I signed up on the waitlist a couple weeks ago, and it took only 5 days to get into signing up for subscription. 12 days’ wait for Birchbox Man, though I’m still undecided about it and might wait until it’s closer to my guy’s birthday. My box is still on its way, according to tracking (I’m on the West Coast though).
I got the exact same box! Info: the Nexuus serum is nothing great, imo. I had a full-sized sample from a previous Nexuus giveaway and it just doesn’t seem to do anything (and can weigh your hair down if you use too much so…I guess it does do *something*). Also, the little pipet doesn’t seem to work, so I just had to shake some out from the bottle into my hand. The Youngblood stuff is great. It really keeps me matte for a long time. And don’t worry about it not being full-sized…I can see this sample lasting awhile.
So how do you go about getting the magazine subscription refund? I already get the magazine!
i got a different box.. hmm.. am I out of the club??? I got the mirenessee glossy stix and to be honest, when i first saw the color, all I could think, is “are you kidding me?!” that color red belongs on fire engines and stop signs…
However, I have very dark auburn hair and hazel eyes and red is actually a color I have NEVER tried… so figured wtH…. not a bad deal, just not really sure though t be honest, I think it owuld take me a very long time to get used to seeing red on anything besides tricks and stop signs…lol
And my students would probably wonder who teacher is doing…. you know how teenagers are…lol
