My April Birchbox seemed to take forever to get to me this month. I know they ship them out in waves and mine must have shipped in one of the later waves. I knew what was in it (I always peek), but it’s still nice to actually get it in your hands.
I am skipping the picture of the outer box this month because it was the same as always. But the inner box was wrapped in a special sleeve to celebrate the colaboration with Women’sHealth. I love Birchbox special edition boxes. They pair up with some fun companies and it keeps them fresh!
I can’t explain why, but I get really excited when I see that the some of the items are wrapped, or in this case, in a special sleeve. I mean, I know what they are, but more unwrapping makes them even more fun!
The April Birchbox theme is “tiny tweaks, big results” and was a joint effort between Birchbox and Women’sHealth. This month’s box was put together by the beauty and wellness experts at Women’sHeath and was designed to help you fine-tune your lifestyle. I received box #38 (*) this month (there were 40 total boxes). Here’s what was inside:
~Skin&Co Bagnodoccia Body Gel ($2.80): I’m not sure how to describe the scent of this shower gel, but I don’t love it. It kind of reminds me of what I’d use at a fancy hotel. I don’t hate it, but it’s not something I would buy for myself.
~Nexxus® Youth Renewal™ Rejuvenating Elixir ($3): This is a shine boosting serum for your hair which is suppose to cure dry strands and age related breakage. I have been using Moroccan Oil and have been loving it, so I can’t wait to see how this compares!
~StriVectin-SD™ Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles ($16): I got a sample of a different type of StriVectin-SD in my January bluum box and loved it, so I was super excited that my box included this. I am on the hunt for a good eye cream and maybe this will be it!
~Youngblood Anti-Shine Mattifier ($7.20): For some reason, I expected this to be a full size, so I was a little disappointed to hear that it wasn’t. This shine-zapping balm is applied on the T-zone before applying foundation to get a matte finish. This has me totally interested and I wonder how it’s going to work! I will for sure report back on this because I don’t know if I have ever seen a product like this. Have you??
~Weleda Body Lotion ($0.94): I don’t know if I have ever tried tried anything from Weleda before (maybe I have tried their baby line), but these seem great. I love that they included various scents so you can smell them all!
~Women’sHealth Subscription ($9.99): This month’s box also includes an annual subscription to Women’sHealth magazine. But if you are not interested in that, you can request a refund which would make this box FREE for you! I think I am going to subscribe though because I could use some health info!
All totaled, I came up with a value of $39.93 for the April Birchbox. Plus the $5 in points I will get for reviewing the items and the $1 (**) I got for buying the box brings the value to $45.93. Awesome since the box only costs $10. I love seriously Birchbox and will likely always subscribe.
