April pickybunny

pickybunny is a monthly subscription service that offers new premium brand kids clothing sizes Newborn – 20 starting at just $45/month. I was anxious to give them a try and see how they compared to other similar services out there.

The Bag

pickybunny does not use boxes, rather they ship via USPS in plastic envelopes. My package arrived very quickly (bonus!) and I was excited to see what was inside!

First Look

First looks in bags are hard, but I like to show you how things are packaged, etc. so I take them anyways. Everything was wrapped in tissue paper and not just thrown all in the bag you know?

pickybunny does not have an information card which I totally get since every pack is customized.  They’d have to make so many different cards!  Here’s what we got:

~decaf plus airplane tee ($32): This is totally my favorite piece of the bunch. I’ve never heard of decaf plush before, but they have some really cute things. Everything is retro-inspired and they have some of the cutest felt applique pillows ever. I am debating ordering one for WB’s room! Love this line!

~First Impressions Two-Piece Set ($17.32, MSRP $38.50): I couldn’t find this exact set online, but I found a very close match. I used the sale price because that’s what you’d actually pay to buy it today. I am not a huge shortall fan, but let’s face it, WB can wear just about anything and look cute. I will probably separate these pieces to tone them down a little. Yellow polo + khaki shorts. Shortalls + white polo. That’s way more my WB’s style!

~Gymboree Jean Shorts ($19.75): These has the original Gymboree price tags on it, so I am going with that price! Can I just say that I love that all of these items are actually brand name products with the tags still on? I’m not down with jorts on grown men, but I can handle them on a baby ;). While these are 12-18 months, they seem really big. Perhaps WB is just really small (that’s more likely the case). I can’t help but wonder if these will even fit him this summer? We’ll see!

~$40 Hello Fresh Gift Card: I am so excited about this I can’t even stand it.  Hello Fresh is a weekly grocery delivery service.  Every week they deliver healthy Michelin Star recipes and ingredients to your door.  Boxes include enough items for 3 meals (you can opt from 2, 4 or 6 servings per meal) and start at $59/week.  I am ordering this TODAY!

All totaled, my April pickybunny pack had a value of $69.07 (or $90.25 if you use MSRP). And that does not even include the $40 Hello Fresh gift card! Any way you add it up, it’s much more than the $45/month cost of the box! And just as I requested, they did not send me any “crazy things”. I requested summer items and said that I liked solids and babyGap.  How’s that for a lack of direction on my part?

Do you subscribe to pickybunny?  What’d you think of the box?  Want to sign up? You’re in luck.  Right now you can use  the code “EGGHUNT20” to save $20 off a 2-month trial pack.  So basically, you’ll get 8 clothing pieces for $70.  Not bad at all.  Click here if you want to subscribe or just learn more!

Dang! I was all excited about that “Hello Fresh” grocery delivery service! I went to their website to sign up and it says I’m outside their delivery service 🙁 boohoo. Oh well…

Love that airplane shirt! Definitely wouldn’t pay $32 for it tho, especially since I have to buy TWO of everything for my twins (or at least two comparable things).

I think Nathaniel would fit in those shorts by this summer. He is just a big boy!

I’m thinking of signing up for pickybunny after seeing this post. I just discovered “boxes” and this blog (which I love and which is inspiring me to take the time to actually journal in my own blog…thank you!) Hopefully I don’t end up with a box problem….lol!

  6. I love all of your box reviews!! Thank you for doing this. It’s really going to help me decide which ones I want to try.

And I totally love that you said “jorts”…I thought my hubby was the only one that used that term…hahaha
