Tuesdays Troubles

It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Troubles. I’ve said it before, but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is. And yes, I do realize that these aren’t true “troubles”. I know these for sure could be defined as first world problems!

~I am on the hunt for some fun summer skirts and dresses and am totally striking out. I don’t want anything fancy. Just some cute stuff. I’ve exhausted all the usual suspects (Target, GAP, Old Navy, etc.) and am looking for some cute little online boutiques I know you all know about that I know nothing about. As a side note, how does everyone find all these places anyway?

~I posted a picture of some blocks WB (really L since WB would just gnaw on them right now) got for his birthday and how I cannot get them back in the box they came in. Who on earth designs this stuff? Our Lucky Ducks game is the same way. As a matter of fact, I drop a word that rhymes with duck every time I try and get those little suckers back in the box. And then the game starts playing and I get even more annoyed. But these blocks. Oh my. I knew they were trouble when I opened the box and I should have taken a picture of the arrangement. Luckily my OCD took a backseat to my nasty allergies yesterday and I just shoved the last piece in the box and didn’t think about it again. Until now. Because I feel better.

I mean come on.

~So I’m not proud of this, but I have been “cheating” (aka changing the time on my phone) in order to get more lives for Candy Crush.  But being a cheater sucks because the time on my phone is all screwed up and I am like sending text messages and facebook posts from the future!  I need to take a Candy Crush break for like a week to get caught up with my Candy Crush time, but I just can’t.  No Diet Pepsi AND no Candy Crush.  Pretty sure that requires a stronger willpower than I will ever have.

~My sinuses are killing me.  I woke up yesterday with a headache to end all headaches.  And my nose might just explode.  My entire face hurts.  I am currently just loading up on all the drugs I can find to make it more tolerable, but there must be some secret to relieving sinus pressure?  There must be!

~When L goes to kindergarden next year, WB is going to be BORED.  Like beyond bored. He and L are BFF’s and they play together so nicely (no they seriously do).  So I need to know where I can find that boy some friends.  Mom groups? Some sort of classes?  What do you recommend?  I want a few hours a day, a few days a week.  I feel like just a few hours one day a week isn’t going to be enough you know?  What do you got people?  Find the WB some friends!

That’s it from here for now! What’s troubling you today?

Spread the love

As far as cute skirts/dresses, JC Penney has an adorable line out right now. It has really bright colors and they can be dressed up or down. JCP has also dropped their prices recently so that’s a major bonus.

I can never get things back into the boxes they came in so I am no help at all on that one. I say go buy a rubbermaid box with a lid and throw them all in there. 🙂

Oh I was totally gonna say JCPenney’s. I went this weekend and had to put back a couple of cute things because I just found too much. But I did buy a cute blue color block dress. I couldn’t resist.

I’m linking up with you today! I have some puzzlers that I need help with. Maybe you can help me with some of my blogging questions, like buttons. Here is a link

As for your sinuses…have you ever tried a sinus flusher? It has been a godsend for me. I recently upgraded to an electric one (because it was on sale at Target) but I think the old fashioned squeeze bottle kind was better. It sounds gross but it feels soooo good during pollen season!

That’s how I ‘cheat’ on Candy crush and then my time was off by like 20 min and I knew it was time to take a ‘break’ :o)

  4. Shelly

i was totally unaware that you can cheat at candy crush by changing the time on your phone… interesting…

You’re lucky…my boys (4 and 3) love each other, but fight like 99% of the time they are together. It is exhausing!!
Try thebluedoorboutique.com I love their clothes. They have really cute dresses. If I ever get this baby weight off (3 yrs later) I’m totally buying every one of them. They have a store in Columbus, GA close to where I live…that’s how I know about them. They are so sweet and shipping is super fast…yes I get things shipped even though I live like 15 mins away.

Neti-pot is a terrific option that’s drug-free!! Sure it looks and feels weird but try it when you’re desperate enough, you’ll be hooked!

  7. Jen

Isn’t it frustrating when you can’t get those blocks back how they came?!?! I tried for hours with some that I got my niece and nephew, I gave up haha.

  8. Kate

Check meetup.com for baby/kid groups. I’ve yet to go, but there are apparently a couple really active moms group near me.

Sorry to hear that you’re suffering with sinus pain. I used to go through Halls cough drops like candy, because they would help clear up my nose. If those don’t work, have you ever tried a neti pot? Hope you feel better!

Well…. Since you asked. Im super stressed!!! My boyfriend and I currently looking into moving. We found a SUPER nice apartment for 845 a month but my grandma thinks I should buy a house because the market is so good not to mention a house payment would be cheaper than rent. My issue is I have a hard time trusting people so finding a relator that wont try to screw me over is becoming an issue. First world problems indeed…..

Sudafed is the best sinus pressure reliever!!!!! GL!

What level are you on for Candy Crush?? I didn’ tknow the changing the time trick. I’d send ya lives if we were friends on there! I burn through so many in the course of a workday. blush.

Skirts…Target has some really cute striped maxi skirts, Old Navy has the fold over jersey skirts that are super comfy in the summer and can be dressed up or you can throw a tank on with them for casual. LOFT has some cute stuff sometimes and great coupons! Kohls is hit or miss for me but they might have something.
A few online shops i like are Conversation Pieces, Kiki La Rue, Downeast Basics, Soco Vintage and Amour Boutique.

I am STILL stuck on Level 65 in Candy Crush…for like a month now!

As stated in earlier posts – I recommend the neti-pot, too! I have the SinuCleanse from Walgreens. I use only half the “salt” because it makes my nose burn if I use the whole amount. Oh, and get their “salt” packets, because it’s not just salt – it’s a special ratio with baking soda. You could make your own (I used to) but it’s a p.i.t.a. So I recommend purchasing their packets 🙂
Also, you can buy a big piece of ginger and put it in a pot on the stove in boiling water. Take a hot towel and stand over the pot, towel over head, breathing in the steam. Then take a washcloth and dip it in the warm water, take it out and let it cool to the touch (I used tongs to do this). Place on face/forehead/cheeks/wherever there’s pain. Ginger is a natural swelling-reducer so it will help with the sinus pressure/swelling. Good luck! I’ve had sinus problems for years, tho somehow pregnancy made my sinuses better!!! As far as meds go, the “real” sudafed (NOT PE) is the way to go.

I’m trying to find Hadley some baby classes too. She is treating this house like a jungle gym, so I was thinking gymboree? It’s like 72 bucks a month, but I think you can go to open gym anytime they offer it and that’s a once a week class. I THINK! We can go together 🙂 🙂 🙂

  16. Sara

I would try MOPS for a moms group! Also gymboree has classes in music and other things, or The Little Gym or My Gym

  17. Alison

Have you been to a francesca?s?? I loveeee it there! http://www.francescas.com/category/women+apparel/skirts.do?nType=2
The prices are like, more expensive than target, but less expensive than ubran outfitters or something. So it?s sort of in the middle? and I always find that the things I buy there end up being my favorites that I wear a lot, and probably get my $ worth. I like going to the store in the mall to try things on though, I?ve never bought anything from them online. Also, I?ve found that they have things in the store that aren?t online (and vise versa).

My sinuses are killing me too!! I keep getting these sinus headaches and they?re the worst!! The only thing that helps me get rid of them that I?ve found is, Alka Seltzer Plus Severe Allergy sinus congestion & headache liquid gels? http://alka-seltzer.com/asp/alka-seltzer-plus-allergy-relief.html

My Tuesday Trouble is that my girls sometimes get along but today they do NOT and it’s driving me up a wall. I find it is nearly impossible to get a 20-month-old and a 4-year-old to play nicely together without me there to moderate every move they make. They think they’re each the center if their own universe and whenever the other does something they don’t like the screaming starts. They used to pay SO nicely together. But I think the younger one just finally started having an opinion and the older one doesn’t like not always having her way. Plus, now the little one “fights back” when the older one steals a toy by yanking on her long hair. Lovely. Did I ever tell you how much I love naptime? I would seriously end up in a loony bin if my girls didn’t take a nap each day…

  19. Try modcloth! An old coworker of mine swears by that website and she always looked so cute!

I concur with Lyndie, buy a plastic tub and throw them in there, none will be the wiser!

You can cheat on candy crush? How come I am just now figuring this out?!?! Even though I now know, I’m to lazy to do anything about it so I will continue waiting for people to give me lives or even waiting for the game to give me more lives, lol.

I don’t know what it feels like to be sick with sinus issues… but I love the nettie pot! I clean my nose out every night with one, only cause I don’t like going to be with the days stink stuck up my nose, lol!

Do you have a local YMCA or daycare drop in or even a mommy and me? Those are some ideas to find some companions for WB when L starts school. There is also some new thing called a meet-up? My friends keeps raving about it but I’m still on the fence… I should probably eventually look in to it!

I hope you feel better soon, sorry to hear that you are down and out! Sending a speedy recovery your way!

  20. Lauren

I say JCPenny as well for summer skirts! What about Khol’s? I’m a BIG fan of their sales!

I played Candy Crush one time for like 30 minutes and I do not know what all the hype was about. I didn’t find it fun or exciting or anything… now I just get annoyed at the million Candy Crush requests that come to my phone every hour and I want to scream! Lol.

My son has those exact same blocks! I probably like building with them more than he does… but he likes them too! I thru the box away, they are all just in one of the bins of his toy shelf.

What about pre-school for WB? Or daycare or whatever they are calling it these days? It would let him meet lots of friends! Or do you think he is too young? My son started when he was 8 months old but I know not everyone likes taking their kids to daycare!

  21. jen

You use Zulily? Right now they have Go All Out dresses for $15-20 and if I wasn’t planning on nursing a baby this summer I’d be all over them.

If Clawson isn’t too far for you, Natures playhouse is awesome!!!!! When Alessio was 1 it was our home away from home 🙂
