The May Birchbox is all about you. The information card said: “From your morning routine (sunrise yoga or snooze button and espresso) to your ice cream preferences (classic vanilla or rocky road with all the toppings), you’ve got a style and personality all your own.” When I first saw the card, I thought it was another magazine subscription card. LOL!
I skipped the picture of the outer Birchbox box this month because it looks the same as always. So does the inner box, but I can’t skip taking pictures of everything you know? As a side note, this pictures are horrible. Daylight pictures are way better!
I knew what was in this month’s Birchbox, but for some reason, I am still excited to actually take that first peek. No matter what is in it, I can’t wait to check it out.
I still don’t understand why Birchbox has themes since I don’t think they ever really “work” you know? But I suppose that the information cards would be super boring without a theme because then they wouldn’t be able to include any cute quotes or anything on them. I received Box #9(*) this month and here is what was inside:
~Marvis Toothpaste ($1.40): B got this in his Birchbox Man box last month and really likes it, so I will probably pass it along to him. He actually took his on vacation with us. I do love the packaging on this though. If it was pink and silver, I probably would keep it for myself.
~Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner ($5.25): I had to laugh when I saw that I was getting eyeliner in my box. Eyeliner is so not “me” at all! I should probably update my profile and see if there is a place to mention this. But at least it’s black, so I will use it. Once I use all the others I have gotten in my subscription boxes.
~amika Obliphica Nourishing Mask ($1.60): I have this hair mask and I love it. I remember when it first came in people’s boxes months ago I wanted to get it so badly. This totally supports my theory that if you wait long enough, you will eventually sample everything Birchbox has to offer!
~COOLA Classic SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face ($4.33): Once again, B received this in his last Birchbox Man box. I can totally see the same toothpaste coming in both boxes, but moisturizer? And in the same month? Really? Regardless, I’ll try it, but I am surprised at the overlap this month.
~Runa Guayusa Tea ($1.64): First eyeliner and now tea? Birchbox has it in for me this month! LOL. In flipping through pictures the different boxes, this was one of the ones that was totally not me. Which is funny because this month is supposed to be all about “you”! Luckily B loves tea, so he will also get this.
All totaled, I came up with a value of $14.22 for my May Birchbox. Including the points I get for reviewing the products (which is equal to $5) and the points I got for purchasing the box (which is equal to $1), the box had a real total of $20.22. While it’s not my favorite Birchbox ever, I am still happy with it and feel like I got my money’s worth. PLUS, I got a special Nuance Salma Hayek Birchbox this month and it was AMAZING. And free. I will try to get that review up soon, but trust me, it more than made up for this tea and eyeliner box!

Too funny we got the same exact box. Wow I hadn’t looked to realize that there was 41 boxes this month. That is a ton. I know people are complaining about the pen that some got but I would have taken that over the tea. I drink some tea but mostly in the cold months and when its 90 outside I just wont drink it.
I didn’t know there was a special bb this month. Hmm I need to pay more attention. LOL
Are you sure you get points for purchasing the box itself. I do not receive credit for it each month…
I got the same stuff in my birch box minus the toothpaste or the tea. I cancelled it! It has gotten worse as time goes on! I now get ipsy instead.
You are just a tea magnet! I love tea and have never gotten it in a box. I also received the Nuance box and was super excited to see it since I has forgotten about the e-mail.
I never use eyeliner, so I’ve been surprising friends with random eyeliner gifts. They loooove them, so I’m never sad to receive them. 🙂

I got box 36 this month and I actually enjoy it. Last month’s was kind of blah for me. I received the beauty protector detangle spray, which smells amazing and works wonderfully. Laface age defying primer, which I will buy in full size. CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40, FusionBeauty LipFusion? Infatuation Lip Fattener, and, Tweezerman Filemate nail files. I got the Nuance Box too. I like everything but the shampoo/conditioner.
I canceled my subscription as well. I tried for that last three months and felt “eeh” about it. I did get the extra free box and those samples were amazing. However, I decided that I want to try a different service first. I would like to try more makeup and nail polish. Any suggestions?
I got the same box as well! They must have had a million of them. And I didn’t even get a Nuance box to make up for it… but I did get an awesome Ipsy bag, so no complaints here!

I received a pen in mine and I was actually really excited about that. How sad. I love when they send full size items!
I got box 22 this month! I liked it, but I don’t LOVE it. Ipsy was deff my favorite this month for beauty boxes. I think the variations of the boxes are so interesting, my box was completely different from yours, not even one item is the same.
Guess I was lucky, I got version 37 which is only worth it because of the full size cargo brand powder/bronzer.
I got box 3 this month and love it. It was kind of heavy on hair care, but that’s okay with me.
Got my 1st BB and my 1st Ipsy this month. While I was happy with the BB, I was amazed with Ipsy….hello Anastasia brow Gel and Miabella lipstick! But, I will continue to get both:)
