Edited to Add: Mommébox is no longer in business.
I signed up for Mommébox before they launched and bought a 4-month subscription for $15/month. They switched to seasonal boxes after their February box so for the last box in my subscription, I received the Spring Seasonal box. I have NOT been thrilled with any of the Momméboxes I have received, so I was curious to see if this one would be better. I mean surely it couldn’t be worse than last month right?
I do enjoy the Mommébox boxes. They are plain glossy black and are a great size. You can easily resuse them or use them for a gift box. Mine looks a little beat up this month, but it was jammed in my mailbox pretty tight ;).
So the first look wasn’t toobad. But I also wasn’t like OMG this is so amazing either. I’d take a picture of the information card, but I didn’t get one. If you have read here long enough, you know I love me some information cards. I even save them. But sadly they forgot mine. I know that they had them this month because I saw a YouTube review of this box and they had one. Not mine though. Already we’ve off to a bad start.
According to the Mommébox website, the theme this season was “May Treats” and was described as “As Mommés, we know the beauty of new life first hand. In May we will provide you with goodies to beautify your yourself and enjoy outdoor activities while eating healthy snacks so that you and your family can celebrate new beginnings together this spring.” Here’s what the box contained:
~GoGo squeeZ Pouches: While these are a favorite at our house, I’d hardly consider them a curated treat? WB wolfed down both of these about two seconds after I opened the box.
~Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars: I’ve gotten these in a few boxes and they are good. WB actually ate one of these when we opened the box as well. Again, we enjoy these, but….
~Yes To Cucumbers Natural Sunscreen: I got this same sample in my May Conscious Box and while I enjoy the brand and will use the sample, I am guessing I will use all of these at once. Let’s be real, these are tiny.
~MD by Susan F. Lin MD® Ultimate C Skin Brightening Serum: This serum looks cool and I have never heard of the brand, but these tiny packets aren’t really going to give me much of an idea about how it’s going to work you know? According to their website, it’s “Potent, stabilized 20% Vitamin C serum for bright, glowing skin”.
Mommébox bills itself as a “curated box of beauty and lifestyle products for the mom who wants to stay beautiful, inspired and informed. That’s not how I would describe this box at all. It left me wanting more. Not more from Mommébox, but just MORE!! Actually, wait, it left me wanting my $15 back (it’s $20 if you just get one box).
You can check out all of the Mommébox themes on their website and if you are interested in subscribing (I’m not sure why you would though), you can click here.
That is probably the worst subscription box ever! :/
Samples seem to be getting tinier each month! I LOVE me some samples and feel like I end up purchasing quite a bit after trying it. But when they give a pea-sized sample, I mean, c’mon!
Go Go Squeeze goes fast at this house, to. L can slam those in about 20 seconds flat 🙂
Sally
Omg. This box is crazy. It’s almost as bad as my May Bulu box that had a totaled up value of $6 (including the worth of a couple of samples SO small I threw them away because trying them was pointless). Nice to know this is one more I don’t need to feel like I’m missing out on!!
love your honesty!
yeah I’d be pissed. first, you can buy those applesauce packs at Walmart. second, you should never have to pay for single use sample packets, ever. third, dang, they charge a lot for jack shit. I’d absolutely email for a partial refund or something. that’s pathetic!
