June bluum Box

My June bluum box arrived today and I had to dig into it before we to the grocery store. I actually received six boxes today, plus an Advocare order and a car seat that I won ages ago, but bluum was what I opened first.

The Box

bluum ships via DHL Global Mail and took 5 days to get from NJ to MI. Could be better, but it also could be worse.  I am happy that I got my June box in June though.  bluum seems to have delays with their shipping every now and then and I hope that’s all in the past!

First Look

I’d seen some spoilers of this box, but I wasn’t 100% sure what I’d get in mine.  Some of items I’d seen in other people’s boxes I’d already received in previous month’s bluum boxes.  I didn’t know if I’d get duplicates (I didn’t) or if I’d get other items in their place (I did).

The Information Card

I mention it every time, but bluum doesn’t have a true information card.  Instead, they have a card which describes that month’s theme (ours was “Lil’ Artiste”) and a little about your baby’s age and a general discussion about the items in the box.  18 month-olds (I have WB aged up) will always get “Lil’ Artiste”, 17 month-olds will always get “Fine Dining” and so on.  On the day your box is delivered (or the day after), you get an e-mail with the box contents and a description of each item.  I have realized that bluum doesn’t print the box contents on the information card anymore because the boxes aren’t always the same.  Some people this month (and last month) got different items than I did.  I have no idea how bluum tracks this and how they decide which box gets what items?  It seems very confusing that’s for sure.

Here’s what my Lil’ Artiste box contained:

~ALEX Toys My Scribble Pad ($1.95): I am so throwing this in my bag (aka my purse, I rarely carry a diaper bag – too bulky) for dinners out.  WB and L will both be able to use this and it’ll work perfect when they run out of space those restaurant placemats.

~ALEX Toys Tots First Crayons($5.95): These are also going in my bag.  I need to find a little container to store them in, but I am certain I have something I can use.  I chunky crayons like these, but I have never spent the money to try them.  WB is only 14 months and can handle a regular crayon just fine.  I mean he wants to eat them, but he’ll want to eat these too ;).  Still I am guessing they will be harder for the kids to break in half.

~Kidz Banz Sunglasses($14.99): I love these and need to work on getting WB to keep them on, even if it’s just for short periods of time at first.  So far he’ll wear them for 5 seconds and then rip them off.  Don’t babies eyes hurt from the sun??  I know mine do.  I seriously can’t be outside without sunglasses.  WB? He could care less.  I’m going to make this happen though.  These are too cute for him not to wear!

~Baby ECOS Laundry Detergent($0.74): I have come to realize that I am not a laundry detergent expert.  If no one ends up with a rash, it smells good and gets my clothes clean, that’s all I need.  And pretty much every detergent I have ever used does all this.  I actually believe I have tried this in the past (it came in something once) and have no complaints.  I need to save little bottles like this for vacation (i.e. the cruise we just went on) where they charge you a fortune for detergent!

~Happy Baby happy munchies Rice Cakes ($3.59/each, $7.18): We get these in like every bluum box we receive.  WB likes them and all, but let’s mix it up a little bit!  Maybe even swap these for some pouches or something?  I should mention that other people got a rubber ducky set (we got that in a box a while back) and a box of nibbly fingers instead of these.

~Happy Baby happy creamies fruit & vegetable snacks($4.21): Again, these are good and we can always use more snacks, but we have gotten these a few times before so I would have preferred to see something else.  Some people got the Brain Rules for Baby book instead of these (again we got that in a prior month so I think they had to find something else to send to us).

All totaled, my June bluum Lil’ Artiste box had a value of $35.02, which is more than the $24.95 cost of the box.  I didn’t dislike this box by any means, but I wish they would keep ALL Lil’ Artiste boxes the same.  Not that I want duplicates or anything, but the system totally confuses me!

Did you get bluum this month?  What’d you think?  And what was your theme?  And if you are interested in subscribing or want to learn more, click here.
