Mama’s Got Mail is a new (June was their second box) monthly gift subscription service that sends fun, thoughtful items to moms each month. The idea behind Mama’s Got Mail is to help you feel encouraged and supported as a mom so that you can be the best woman you can be.

The Box

Mama’s Got Mail ships via USPS Priority Mail and I was kind of surprised to see it.  I didn’t realize they shipped so early in the month.    Not that it’s a bad thing, because I love a good surprise box showing up at my house ;).

Second First Look

Since Mama’s Got Mail is so different every month, I was excited to open it up and check out how I’d be spending a little me time this month.  I think about Mama’s Got Mail and getting some me time in every time I use that fabulous mug I got last month.

The Information Card

Unlike most boxes which contain only “things”, Mama’s Got Mail gives you tasks and wants you to put some thought into what is included in the package.  This month’s theme is “Be Colorful”.  The idea is to spend time doing some “unnecessary creating”.  If you are a creative type the goal to carve out some time to create and see your where your mind takes you.  If you are more like me (an organizer) Mama’s Got Mail suggests using this as a social activity with your husband and / or kids. I love that idea!  Nothing wrong with spending a little extra time connecting with B.

~642 Things to Draw ($13.58):  This is an adorable little sketchbook that gives you, well 642 Things to Draw.  The pages are blank, except for the little suggestions about what to draw.  The ideas are all over the place.  From a robot to platform shoes to confetti to a bowl of pudding.  I love the idea of using this with B and L and taking turns adding out drawings in there!  It’s going to be so funny to see everyone’s creations and even funnier to determine if they actually look like what they are suppose to.

~PrismaColor Verithin Colored Pencils – 36 Count ($18.27): I have used little kid colored pencils for years and years so it’s nice to finally get some real art supplies!  B actually used to draw (with colored pencils) before we met, but I don’t even know if his were this nice.  No matter how old I am, getting a new pack of crayons or colored pencils or whatever still excites me!

~PrismaColor Pencil Sharpener ($5.20):  And finally, a pencil sharpener!  This would never even have occurred to me so it’s nice that someone is much more on top of things than I am.

All totaled, I came up with a value of $37.05 for the physical items in the June Mama’s Got Mail Box.  As always, I can’t put a price tag on the workshop part of the box.  This month’s personal self check-in (the worksheet potion) includes an assignment to draw something you are good at and questions to get you thinking about how incorporating a creative outlet (journaling, art classes, yoga, etc.) would help you.
