July Barkbox

I made B leave the dogs here with me this weekend (it’s creepy at home with no furries) and happily, their Barkbox showed up to help keep them entertained. Baxter isn’t much of an up-north dog – he dislikes getting wet, being dirty and being too hot, but I bet Buddy wishes he would have gotten to go. B considered taking Buddy, but I feared these two would cry without each other.

The Box

The July Barkbox shipped via DHL Global Mail and arrived here super quickly this month.  It only took 3 days, which I thought was great.  The box seemed bigger this month, which I typically think is a good sign.

First Look

I still love the new Barkbox paper and think it’s a great change.  I also loved the colors and thought this looked like a great Barkbox at first glance.

July Barkbox
The Information Card

The July Barkbox included items to help your pup be the coolest pooch on the block – literally and figuratively – since it appears that summer is here to stay.  Here’s what the box included:

~safemade for BarkBox flexi-bowl ($4): Ahh, I think I know what the newest addition to my glovebox is!  This bowl!  You can bend it, fold it, squeeze it, shove it in a too small space and it’s designed to go back to it’s original shape.  For some reason we never think to bring a bowl for on the way up-north, so when we stop for bathroom breaks and to get snacks the dogs kind of look at us like, umm, where’s ours?  And of course we find them something, but it’d be better just to have this at the ready.

~R2P Pet Sprong ($4.99): I gave this to the dogs and they refused to pick it up.  It looks a lot like one of WB’s toys, so I think they thought I was trying to set them up.  Only very rarely do the dogs ever even touch one of the kids toys.  I don’t know know how they know, but they do.  WB on the other hand, steals the dogs toys whenever he gets a chance. He thinks this is great too;).

~Barkworthies Bully Stick ($2.99): The boys get these often from Barkbox and really like them. They can sit for a few weeks and not touch them, but once they get going, they don’t stop till it’s all gone.

~Max & Ruffy’s Natural Organic Treats for Dogs ($5.25): These are perfect for Baxter & Buddy because they are nice and small.  Sometimes L likes to dole out multiple treats in a  “serving”, so these will work quite nicely.

~No Grainers Soft Chews ($4.49): Baxter and Buddy tested these out right away and enjoyed them lots.  I had WB pass them out, which he thinks is hysterical.  Laughs and laughs when the dogs grab the treats.  I need to get a video.

~Mr. Barksmith’s Smoothies for Dogs ($1.33):  The dogs love these and I need to grab another one so there is no fighting.  I can give them two bones to chew on and they fight one, but giving them one smoothie to share would be an all out war!

All totaled, the July Barkbox has an estimated value of $23.05.  As always, it was more than the monthly cost of the box (which again is $18/month if you subscribe for 6 months or more).

Baxter was game for a picture.

I am so excited that I found your blog! I just got our first bark box tonight and I was googling the items to see how much it was worth(when I found you), so your post just totally made my night!! (: I am excited to start following you!

what a great photo of the boys! I’d have to photoshop my “kids” into a barkbox photo!

Gavin got his a few days ago. We get the big dog box so instead of the red toy, we got a purple rubber ball to put treats in. I stuck the bully stick in there and he was busy for quite awhile. I poured the rest of his bowser beer from the June BarkBox in the bowl and put it in the freezer to make a pup-sicle. Gavin enjoyed it – mostly because it’s been super hot here lately. You can freeze and bake in the silicone bowl too! This was one of my fave boxes so far I think.

We subscribed and got our first box on Friday. Our puppy seemed to enjoy the new stuff but our son was over the moon lol. It’s actually 19 a month now

Looking forward to getting our first box, so thank you again for the code as I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in next month’s box! And love the pix of your two boys!

    Do they have cat boxes?

I love the plant and planter in the pics with the obviously adorbs dogs. What is that?

Does the red sprong toy have soft flocking all over it? Be careful if it does, it may peel off everywhere if your dogs (or WB!) decide to play rough with it. I have a golden retriever and she got one of those for Christmas and she made a mess all over the house (and her mouth) with it, she loved to play with it though, so it was hard to take it away from her…

My two dogs love the Sprong; one more than the other. We got a different shape but it is the most loved toy since its arrival. It does “deflock” but I do not see a mess left behind. I will actually be buying more of this toy. Love the noise it makes when you toss it. I thought this box was much better than the June box.

Oh thanks a bunch! My Frenchie pup just adores the Sprong! I am looking to get another one (one for upstairs, one for downstairs–maybe one for the office, too) but did not keep the label. So I thank you for posting it! About half the price of similar toys. It is now his favorite Fetch toy–and, since he cannot get a good grip on it, I love it, too. So Fetch is Fetch and not Keep Away.
