My much anticipated July bluum box arrived yesterday and I was totally looking forward to checking it out. bluum is one box that I never really know what to expect from.

The Box

bluum ships via DHL Global Mail and didn’t take too long to show up this month.  I was actually surprised to see the out for delivery notification pop-up on my phone today.  I use the “Posted” app and I love it!

My first thought was basically nothing.  I wasn’t excited to investigate further, but I also didn’t want to slam the box shut either. It was kind of just there.

The Not Informational Information Card

My July bluum theme was “Let’s Make Friends” which is the 19 month-old bluum box theme.  Although bluum uses the same themes for each monthly age group box (i.e. the 19 month-old box will always be “Let’s Make Friends”, the 19 month-old box will always be Lil’ Artiste”, etc.), not everyone gets the same items in their box.  Two people receiving this same themed box in the same month may not always even get the same things.  For example I saw a cup with a mOmma straw cup in it.  I got one of those a few months ago from bluum, so I didn’t get it again this month.  It seems confusing and I can’t figure out how they’d ever track that, but they do.  And liked I mentioned in the past, the information card just gives you a description of what the theme is and then bluum e-mails you the box contents and descriptions the day it’s delivered.

Here’s what my box included:

~StriVectin-EV – Get Even Brightening Serum ($13.08): I am very excited about this and thin its my favorite item in the box.  It gets great reviews and I love the brand.  Plus, I love brightening skin products.  I think this will be an I’m Totally Trying it August item since it takes a few weeks to get results.

~HY5 – Hand Sanitizer ($3): I think I have gotten this in a box before but it’s long gone.  I like it will throw it in my bag, which doesn’t include any hand sanitizer right now.  In extreme cases (i.e. Chuck E Cheese) I will break out the sanitizer, but I don’t use it daily.  It doesn’t hurt to have it around though.

~Dapple – Wipes ($3.99): I am sensing a trend that bluum things friends = germy.  Which certainly can be the case!  I totally could have used these the other day at the doctor when WB was shoving little Winnie the Pooh people in his mouth that are in one of the exam rooms there.  He seems to be unaffected, but next time I would at least like to wipe those down a little before he gnawed on them.

~Redex – Udderly Smooth Cream ($1.75): So far the first four items in the box have been mom items.  I know it’s a mom / baby box, but I was surprised there were so many mom items this month.  I do plan to use these cream right away though because I have heard great things!

~B kids – Pet Miniature World ($9.99): The retail price on this is $9.99, but I wouldn’t pay that much for it.  I’m kind of just meh on this, but of course, WB likes it.  Getting the bird freed is a big deal for him!

~Little Learners – I Can Share Pull-Out Pictures ($8.76): This is a totally cute book and WB enjoys it too.  He’s finally getting to the point where he can sit down for a few minutes and “read” a book.  And this one is fun because he can take it apart!

~Sneakz Organics – Chocolate Milk ($4): We received these in a Conscious Box (I think) a while back and WB loves them.  And listen, I need to sneak whatever foods in him whatever chance I get.  He’s a picky little eater that one and once I find something he likes, I get a bunch!

All totaled I came up with a value of $44.57 for the July “Let’s Make Friends” bluum box. While this was a fairly good box, I do hope that my next bluum box has more baby items than mom items because this is for WB not me.

So, I read the line “Getting the bird freed is a big deal for him!” and thought it went with the Utter Cream. I was just amazed, sitting here think what the heck your husband (that’s who I assumed WB was) is using this cream for! LMAO. 😀

I wonder why there are so many items for Mom in this box? Maybe they ran out of kid stuff? I feel like bluum is normally better than Citrus Lane. We subscribe to CL and I’m always jealous of the bluum box. Which one do you prefer?

This is my first month of a gift subscription I bought to test out Bluum. Our theme this month was Giggle Monster (8 months) and I was surprised most of the stuff was for me, not my daughter. We received a teether and baby mum mum (full size box) in a flavor I haven’t been able to get but otherwise there was a pack of two outlet covers (not the box as shown in my email list of items), a boppy water bottle and a funktion clutch. Would have rather had a toy or book for the baby. We’ve been getting Citrus Lane boxes for a few months now and the last two were a little on the miss side than the hit side so was thinking of switching but probably won’t.

I had a bad coustmer service experiance and with my son being almost 3 this was not for us after the first month.
