July Stork Stack

My July Stork Stack (and a few a lot other things) was waiting for me when WB and I arrived home today.  I love that Stork Stack ships at the beginning of the month because it gives me a nice amount of time in between my baby boxes. And not too many boxes ship at the beginning of the month, so that is nice as well.

The Box

Stork Stack ships using USPS via OSM Worldwide.  I’m not to clear on what exactly they do, but I know it’s slower than Priority Mail.  Still I got my box in 4 days and that included the holiday, so that’s not too bad.

First Look

I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t too thrilled by the first look! I had peeked at the spoilers and had actually hoped that was NOT what I received.

The Information Card

The July 2013 Stork Stack theme was “Ready, Set, Summer” and included carefully chosen items to contribute to the fun and feel of summer!  Here’s what WB’s box (15 month-old boy) included:

~Baby Banz: Baby UPF 50+ Reversible Bucket Hat (Red Camo) ($19): We got hats in our June Citrus Lane, but I don’t mind receiving another one because WB is actually okay with wearing it and this is a different!  However, I am not a huge fan of this red camo print at all.  Luckily though it’s reversible, so he can just wear it on the all red side.  This hat has velcro which lets you resize it which I really like.  WB will probably be able to wear this hat well into next summer.  If it were a different print I’d totally love this.

~Melissa & Doug: Slide & Seek Safari Baby & Toddler Toy ($5.99): WB received this a few months ago in the April Citrus Lane box and while it’s cute and he likes it an all, we don’t need two.  I will likely swap this or donate it.

~Child’s Play International: Grow It (Helping Hands) ($5.39): This book is super cute and we don’t have it, so of course I love it.  It’s not a board book, but not a paperback either.  The packages are thicker and seem like they will be very sturdy.  We’re reading this tonight!

~Bitsy’s Brainfood: Zucchini Gingerbread Carrot Snacks ($2.39): You can’t really go wrong with snacks can you?  I was quite pleased that this month did not have any seaweed in it and had snacks for WB, not me.  These will be gone in a day or two!

~Supergoop (Samples): I love Supergoop so these were a welcome addition to the box.  I am throwing them in my bag right now because somehow I don’t always have sunscreen when I need it.  This seems impossible since I have so much, but it happens.

All totaled our July Stork Stack had a value of $32.77.   Stork Stack is $27.99/month and while I didn’t LOVE everything, I am still quite pleased with the box!  It’s not their fault I already have that toy!

I’ve been having bad luck with my sub boxes being delivered after being broken into! I got my stork stack today and it was open and nothing was in it… First off, it didn’t help that the tape on the box was applied very badly and that it didn’t even hold down one of the flaps! But thst still doesn’t give the delivery person the right to steal the goods for themselves!!! But good news is I spoke with Mary at Stork Stack and she was super duper sweet and understanding and is sending me a brand new box!!! I told her to make sure they tape this one a little better, lol!!!

    I dig good customer service!

We got a hat (pink print, says groovy), a book about sports, a different thing of snacks (beet chocolate orange) and a set of sand toys from Melissa & Doug. Great value IMO and I liked it more than the last couple of CL boxes, though I’m now stocked up on sun hats…

This box looks nice to me, I like Stork Stack, I just can’t help compare them Citrus Lane, which I feel tends to be a bit better overall.

I want to do this once my baby is born!

I have a 3-month old boy and our box had a blue and white print hat that I like better than the camo too, a different book, a different Melissa and Doug toy, and Earth Mama Baby Angel shampoo, which we have and I love. I am little confused about the supergoop samples though. This is my first box, but I noticed it lists on the Info card the supergoop as $19/6oz. Is this just to give us the price to buy later or the cost of what’s in the box?
