Monday Morning Ramblings

~It was just WB and I here all weekend and we spent our time getting organized, going on long walks and also Target clearance shopping.  He is insisting that we go back today so that’d what we’re doing this morning.  B and L will be headed home from up-north today and while WB and I will be happy to see them, I honestly think they could spend the entire summer up-north and be fine.  Me? Not so much!

That's L in the water ;)
That’s L at the bottom of the slide.

~I couldn’t find anything on tv the other day during nap time, so I decided to put on Master Chef. I have never watched it before and had heard good things and OMG I love it! Seriously, I love it. The latest one on Hulu is The Top 9 Compete and I am now dying to see the rest. I was stunned by the amount of raw chicken on the Top 10 show. Is it that hard to cook chicken? Granted I cut mine into 9 million pieces to make sure it’s done when I do cook chicken, but I am also not competing on a show called Master Chef either.

So good!

~I’m not sure what came over me, but I decided to steam clean the carpets this weekend. I despise vacuuming and I steam cleaning is even worse because you have to empty that stupid water bin all the time which is super annoying.  And umm, my carpets were clearly disgusting because that water was gross.  I shudder at the thought.  I clearly need to steam clean them more often.

~Instead of a newsletter, I worked on pinning to my new Pinterest page.  I have (or will have) a board for each of the boxes I have ever received and then pictures of each of the boxes and box dates on the boards.  I think it’ll be a good way see all the boxes without having to dig around here.

~So far, I know I am receiving bluum, Plated and The Little Book Club (that’d be June’s box if you are keeping track) this week, but I am still super behind on reviews and am working on: MissionUnboxable, The List, Foldigo, Kiwi Crate, SpicySubscriptions and For The Makers.  Oh, and I am hoping that GLOSSYBOX shows up too!

~A few people have asked so I thought I’d give an update.  I still have not heard a thing from thredUP about the bag I sent in (and they received on 6.27).  Last I heard was on 7.5 was an e-mailing saying that I could still expect my payout by Saturday 7.20 but that the delay would be longer than expected.  Yeah, this did not happen.  I have an e-mail into them and I will certainly report back!

Alright, enough from here.  How was your weekend?  What’d you do? Tell me all about it!

I’m so excited to see your review of The List! It’s one of my favorite subscriptions but I haven’t been able to bite the bullet to try it out for myself yet.

Wow you did your own floors? We used to but then M decided it was a PIA so now we get someone to do it. LOL of course its never as often as we need to but they are in desperate need now. I’m thinking when the boys both get back to school I’ll have someone out.

Me thinks I won’t be using threadUP, I’ve heard nothing but negative things about them and now I’m reading what you are going through, yea, I will take my business elsewhere!

I love when the Pure Michigan commericals come on my TV, for a while there that is the only travel commercial I would ever see. Tim and I both decided that we want to take a trip to Michigan because of those commercials!

I went camping over the weekend, it was great, but I am so freaking sore! I think I slept on my right arm/shoulder wrong because it is numb and sore, it hurts very bad! Plus I flared up my muscle condition and so walking is painful for me. But I won’t let it get me down, I plan to go on more camping trips before the baby is here and summer is out!

I’ve been obsessing over subscription boxes that I wasn’t even aware existed until a few days ago and I have been on Royal Baby watch. Looks like you win the “Which One of Us is Most Productive” contest this time.

I order a couple of things from thredup just to kinda see the quality of the clothes versus the prices. I received my package about 3 weeks after I ordered (Shipping took 8 days) and one of my shirts was missing and on the invoice someone had written in pencil unavailable. So I emailed them and asked them what was up with that and they were pretty much like I don’t know, but we will refund you. Needless to say I probably won’t be ordering from them again.

I always thought cleaning the carpets was relaxing haha.

If you have Netflix, I suggest watching “Orange is the New Black.” It is an orignal Netflix series and I think you would love it. I just started it.

i went to Target today… for whatever reason because that store is a spending spree for me every time, regardless of what I’m going for… They had they 70% summer clearance AND their new fall stuff out. My wallet took a beating, but it was so worth it!

Most of the weekend was spent prepping for the garage sale in two weeks. I have way to many clothes LOL. But the big thing this weekend? I finally found my Twinkies! (Perfect for Sunday which was National Junk Food Day 🙂

I got a threadUP bag sent to me last week, but I’ve been waiting to see how your experience went 1st. I think I may go a different route getting rid of these boxes and boxes of clothes and shoes I have from my boys. I’m so tired of seeing this stuff pile up, but I’d like to make a little money off of them to buy more stuff to pile up later.

Oh — Ive always loved MasterChef. So much more than his other show, Hells Kitchen. At least on Master Chef they cook different things each week and have different challenges. Unfortunately, watching shows like that always make hungry … and I know I cant cook like those guys. Ugh.

I met with two thread up representatives this morning and provided feedback on their site/service. I expressed concern over how long it’s taking to receive credit for bags sent it. We sent in two bags over a month ago…They showed me a picture of their warehouse which is stacks of bags piled high. They are seperated in piles by the day they came in and get sorted accordingly. I told them they will lose customers, if this becomes their average turnaround time. Basically, they just grew too quickly…All that being said, they are trying to improve their service by meeting with local customers weekly and were receptive to my concerns and suggestions.

I looove your Pinterest boards idea! What a great way to showcase them all in a easy-to-find visual way. I’m gonna try doing that too!
