Tuesdays Troubles

It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Troubles. I’ve said it before, but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is. And yes, I do realize that these aren’t true “troubles”. I know these for sure could be defined as first world problems!

~I posted a while back looking for a list of all the deal sites out there, like HauteLook, zulily, Ru La La, etc. I think I am set with all of the actual sites. But now I want to know if there is another website somewhere that updates what’s going on on these sites on a daily basis. There has to be some sort of site that will list Haute Look and then a summary listing of their deals for the day, Rue La La and then their brands for the day, etc. Someone please clue me in to this fabulous site and don’t tell me that it exists only in my head ;).

~So after three years (which I actually found amazing), our kiddie pool finally got a hole in it and we had to make an emergency run to Target yesterday to grab a new one. We just got a standard pool with a little slide and the kids love it and everything, but I have always wanted to get one of those BIG waterslide pool things. Like the one in the picture below. Does anyone have one? Do you love it? Or does it suck? If it’s as fun as it looked, L would go insane for it, but if it sucks, that’s an expensive piece of plastic. Oh and if you do have it, umm, what does the lawn look like after you are done with it for the day?? B is VERY into his lawn and does not like when pools turn the grass yellow (which is why I always set up our pool in the driveway or on the patio).

~I talked about it a few months ago, but it’s been on my mind again lately. I still want to get a tattoo with the kids birthdays, but I am having trouble deciding where to put it. I wanted the back of the neck, but the tattoo guys said I’d have to get the dates bigger than I wanted otherwise years down the road they’d look like crap. I can’t decide if I’d care in 20 years that they’d look like crap or not? And I also can’t decide if I should do back of neck or shoulder blades (B’s pick) or on my side? So many decisions!

~Does anyone know of a place that I can resell Men’s clothing? Something similar to thredUP (who still hasn’t processed my bag by the way which I also find troubling) or Moxie Jean, but that accepts men’s clothes? B’s pretty stylish and takes good care of his clothes, but I don’t really know what to do with stuff he doesn’t wear anymore?

~All the back to school stuff in the stores has me thinking about Back to School traditions. I want to start some with L (he starts kingergarden in the fall), but I don’t really know know what I want to do? Is there anything you do to celebrate the beginning of the school year? Fun traditions? Special books? First day of school breakfasts? I need some ideas please!

That’s it from here for now! What’s troubling you today?

I want to do some with N too but i’m not sure what. The one tradition I remember from my younger days is that my mom always took the first day of school off and went out to breakfast with her friends. LOL nothing to do with me but I know she did it. Sounds like a great first day tradition for me 😉

Do you mean the back of your neck so people can see it when you have a ponytail?

I like them somewhere hidden, but I guess maybe you’d prefer people to actually see them!

I’m always wondering about those big pool creations too, I’m dying to hear any feedback you get! Thredup has had my bag for 3 weeks and I haven’t heard a thing from them. I am more than annoyed.

thredUP received my bag on June 24 and I haven’t heard anything. I sent a lot! I’m pretty concerned because it was supposed to take “up to two weeks”, right? Please post as soon as you hear from them. Thanks!

You can always try platos closet. I dont know if you can send them stuff online, but I think they are a national chain, maybe.

I have been searching for a site a found once through youtube but lost. Its like a subscription beauty box, but you only buy it once and monthly they have different themes. One month might be, maybeline products, etc. Have you come across this offer maybe?

I think I sent my bag in to thredUP a day or two before you did, I still haven’t heard anything either :/

I was actually googling yesterday for men’s used clothing sales options but didn’t really find anything other than ebay or craigslist or some other sites where you have to take a picture of each item and price it. I found a local consignment store so you may be able to find something near you. I don’t have time to go through and photograph each item, etc. so I may check the local consignment store or just donate them.

I cannot wait to hear some reviews on the water slide as I was looking into the same one! I also had to giggle as my hubby, also a B, is obsessed with his yard and is always reminding me to remove the little pool when we are done!

I love back to school, and with my little guy starting preschool this year I want to start a few. First on the list root beer floats after school to chat about his first day, new friends and new things!! I love the books “The Night Before..” They have night before preschool, kinder, etc. to read, well the night before. Definitely pics with a sign of first and last day. Can’t wait to read others ideas!!

First day of school traditions we do for my niece are take pictures with her & a large chalk board or you could use poster board & colorful marker but we write the grade shes going to at the top (this year will be 4th grade) and then the date, what she wants to be when she grows up, her teachers name and school name then some random facts like her favorite color, favorite school subject and we take a picture of her holding it every year and then traditional first day of school pictures in the new outfit and walk her to class and take pictures at her desk and with friends…I think she thinks she’s getting too old for that but she loved it when she was in elementary school ! Good Luck to L in the fall !!! He will love school !

We don’t own a water slide like that but did have one rented for 3 days a couple of weeks ago. It was extremely fun for the kids and since we took it down daily, the yard looked normal except for a slightly smooshed grass area which went away fairly quickly

My mother would always take our picture on the first day of school, but that was the only tradition we had. Can’t wait to see what you come up with, as I bet it’ll be awesome!
