The furries’ August Barkbox arrived yesterday and after a long day of barking at garage sale people thru the window, they were thrilled to see it arrive.

The Box

Barkbox ships via DHL Global Mail and took, gosh, 9 days to arrive from New York.   In comparison it took 3 days last month.  No idea what was up with DHL this month, but clearly something was going on.

My brother, who was here when my Barkbox arrived, had already received his so he was telling me everything that was in it when he saw it.  He made it sound so good that I was hoping mine had the same stuff (and it did).

The Information Card

This month’s Barkbox was inspired by the deep blue sea with the intention of keeping dogs dreams of swimming alive with the goodies inside!

~The Hear Doggy Whale! by Quaker Pet Group ($5.89): This is a squeaker toy that doesn’t make noise.  It’s got a squeaker in it that only dogs can hear.  Buddy went crazy when it squeaked it, but Baxter just look at me like huh?

~Barkworthies Natural Hickory Beef Treats ($9.41):  The furries are picky with their treats and prefer soft ones (or ones with like a cookie filling) so they love these!

~The Honest Kitchen Ice Pups ($0.99):  You can either mix this with water and put it in the fridge or you can blend with hot water for a comforting broth.  I think the boys would prefer the ice cubes so after my garage sale fun today I am going get these made for them!

~Primal Pet Liver Munchies ($6.99):  These are made from 10% turkey liver in the United States without antibiotics or added hormones.  The boys love these as well!

~Barkworthies Bully Flakes ($4.50): These flakes are made with ground bully sticks and are to be used to sprinkle over food to help your finicky dog finish his meal.  Baxter and Buddy have no problems finishing a meal, but my brother’s new dog does, so I think I am going to give them to him.  I’m sure Baxter and Buddy would like them, but they don’t need them like little Rex does!

All totaled, the August Barkbox has an estimated value of $27.78.  As always, it was more than the monthly cost of the box (which again is $18/month if you subscribe for 6 months or more).  Barkbox is probably my favorite dog subscription box.  They always send up unique products I wouldn’t have found on my own.  And the furries always enjoy the goodies, which is the most important part of course!

Loved this month’s Barkbox. I was quite surprised when mine arrived on Tuesday. I am in the Pacific Northwest and usually see many spoilers by the time mine arrives. In June it took 17 days from the time I got my notice that it shipped. My two dogs loved the whale; I appreciated the silent squeak. Of course they loved the treats. They are not picky, they would eat the packing material and be happy.

@Sandy: no fair! i’m still waiting on mine! it was stuck in kentucky for 3 whole days doing nothing >.< i'm just impatient though.. i'm just as excited as my dog when the box comes, lol.

Baxter is the best model ever!

My dogs love anything PRIMAL. The frozen raw food is on their food rotation 🙂

Those bully flakes are the only thing that coaxes Rex in eating his food. I am going to have to stock up on it. I am pretty sure our stuffed toy was different. I wonder if it has a silent squeaker too. The inventor of a squeaky toy that only dogs can hear is GENIUS!

Got my dogs first Barkbox today!! I have been anticipating it since I signed him up a little less than a month ago. And let me tell you!!! This is some excellent quality treats and toy that comes in there. We also got some spray for his “booboos” that are like liquid skin. My pup is almost 11 weeks old and about to get neutered so will be putting that spray to use very soon. He went nuts over his new toy and loves his “It’s purely natural” chicken and brown rice biscottii treats. I haven’t given him his Tuscan Pizza Wagatha’s biscuits yet, but I’m sure he’ll love them. I (we) can’t wait until October’s Barkbox!!
