Sunday Sentiments

Once again, I’m totally stealing Jen’s Sunday Sentiments button and idea and making it mine tonight. As always, I don’t even know if she is doing this tonight, but I’m not letting that stop me.

~First things first! L caught a fish! We are up-north for the weekend and the boys went fishing last night! The fish didn’t attach bite on L’s pole, but L was the one to reel him in, so we’re counting it. Go L!!!

~I’m still plotting my trip to IKEA this week (I even brought my catalog up-north) and so far all I have on my for sure list is drawer organizers.  Our drawers don’t have them and they are a mess.  Something tells me that I won’t just be leaving with drawer organizers though.

~I finally got to watch a few episodes of Naked & Afraid last night and OMG what a great show.  I am shocked by how shocked all these people are that it’s hard to be out in the wild naked, left to survive on your own for 21 days.

~My August PopSugar box has shipped(*)!  Eeek!!  I cannot wait to see what is included in this month’s box.  Fingers crossed for a quick arrival this month.

~Word on the street is that the DOD is working to find money to reduce the number of furlough days currently in place.  It started at 22, dropped to 14 and then finally finalized at 11.  I think tomorrow will be B’s 5th furlough day?  While we are making the best of it, enough is enough already and I am hoping that they figure something out before Congress leaves for their 5 week PAID recess.  #justsayin

~I stumbled across the Lay’s Cheesy Garlic Bread chips this weekend and had to pick them up.  Not bad at all!  Better than the Chicken and Waffles ones that’s for sure.

~GAP has 40% sale items AGAIN (with code GAPEXTRA) and I had to place another order today.  Last time I bought L some shirts which, according to the reviews, ran big.  So I sized up.  They do not in fact, run big.  No matter, now I have shirts for this year.  And next!

That’s it from here! How’s your Sunday?

Not related at all to this post, but I’m getting ready to start the 24 day challenge tomorrow. Do you have any advice, tips, meal ideas, etc. Anything that can help??

Naked & Afraid was totally awesome! (I started watching after you mentioned it on your blog awhile back.) I’m kinda bummed that the season is over already…it went by so quickly.

We tried the Lay’s sampler pack when the whole contest was still in full swing. I think the hubby like the Sriracha flavor the best. Overall I don’t think any of them actually won us over and had us screaming for more.

I’ve never been to an IKEA store but everyone makes it sound like it’s the most amazing experience ever. Maybe one day…

My BF and I watched naked and afraid the other night. The show is amazing I couldn’t imagine doing that! I can’t help but believe tho (atleast from the episodes I’ve watched) that its a requirement for this show to have a nice bum :-p

I hope the furlough ends sooner then later!!! We can take the money from their(congress) paid vacation and pay DOD and the military more!! sounds awesome to me! We’re feeling the effects of it here on post!! Especially the commissary! Avoid that on payday and Wednesdays!!

Ahh, thanks to you I just made an online Gap purchase 🙂 I <3 Gap. So I have an appointment on the 15th at Cutie Patootie…Have you turned clothes in there? I have a lot of 18-24 month clothes from Alessio but I need 12-18 for Dario this winter. I know you used those online places. Not sure if I'm patient enough for the turnaround on that.

I go absolutely crazy every time I go to Ikea. I just went a couple weeks ago and already have another list of things to get next time.

My husband works for the DOD here in Washington, but was lucky enough that they cancelled furlough for the base he works at. There are others in our area though that are doing theirs and I do not envy you at all. I don’t know how many times I have asked why congress isn’t getting pay cuts.

I started planning my ikea trip for next year this weekend when I went through the catalog. It’s 2.5 hours away and I wish it was in my backyard…..although then I’d go more than I should. I bought the drawer organizers on my last trip and wish I had budgeted for more than one set!

Yes! I love Naked and Afraid. Some of those people are idiots about some things though… like really, who picks swim goggles as their one survival item? Maybe that’s a side effect of not eating for weeks and/or being naked in front of millions of people.

I was actually able to resist Gap yesterday. Most of the basics they had on clearance we already had in a full range of sizes.

You’re not the only one crossing your fingers for the furlough days to be reduced again! We’ve had 4 of them in our household so far and we’re surely not looking forward to 7 more 🙁 A reduction to 6 would be fantastic but I would take 8 as well!

Didn’t care for the Chicken and Waffle chips at all. I can eat the Cheesy Garlic Bread but they aren’t ones I’d seek out. Still looking for the Srirachi ones.
