September Mexican Candy Box

Mexican Candy Box is a brand new subscription box which delivers a surprise selection of 8 to 10 different kinds of candy and snacks from Mexico. I love love love foreign candy so when they asked me if I wanted to review a box, I was thrilled!

The Box

Mexican Candy Box ships via USPS and took only two days to arrive to me from GA! I believe it wasn’t expected to arrive until Monday, so when it came yesterday I was super excited.

First Look

I didn’t know what to expect from the first look really. I just knew that it would be an assortment of mexican candies. I received the Solo (Individual) Box which is $12/month, but you can also opt for the Amigo (enough candy to share with a friend) for $15/month or the Familia (enough for a family to taste and share) for $20/month.

The Information Card

I was so happy to see that the box came with a little information card. It didn’t have a ton of details, but it had enough so I wasn’t tasting these items totally blind! Here’s what was included:

~Tommy (Butterscotch Candy): These are yummy!  I have no idea how the bear on the package relates, but these are yummy.  B and I have both eaten a few.  So good!

~Canel’s Gum – Various: I don’t like gum, so I didn’t try these.  I will probably give them to my mom or brother or someone.  Gum is not for me at all!

~Bocadin Chocolat Wafers: These are chocolate coated wafers and were yummy.  Nothing unique or crazy.  Just a good little treat!

~Paleton Goat Milk Lolli:  I haven’t tried this yet, but it looks pretty good.  B is scared of the goat milk, but I’m not!

~Dubalin – Strawberry & Hazelnut frosting (with spoon): This reminds me of the spreads that you can buy at the dollar spot at Target.  Very tasty and I just wish that it came with some dipping sticks!

~Lucas Mango Powder (sweet / sour): OMG!!!  It’s Lucas Mango Powder!  He (L) is so excited!  A candy with his name on it is HUGE!!

~Sandia del Puesto (Watermelon Lolli w/ Chili Powder) & Mango del Puesto (Mango Lolli w/ Chili Powder): Okay, so I the mango one and I didn’t realize what I was trying. It’s a lolli and you can dip in the powder that’s in the container.  I thought it tasty like spicy sugar!  It was totally interesting though and I am saving the watermelon one for L!

~Pulparino Extra Hot Salted Tamarind Pulp Candy: No, no, no, no. This was not tasty at all. I had a pretty good idea that I wasn’t going to like it, but I tried it anyway. It was a spicy fruit leather type snack.  I don’t know what else to say abut it other than that I will not be consuming the rest!

~Vero Elotes Strawberry Lollipop w/ Chilli: B lunged for one of these right away and declared them to be delicious.  He said he’s had them before, but I really have no clue where we would have gotten one without me knowing since the only times he’s been to Mexico (I think) are times we’ve gone together!

I didn’t do a cost breakdown on this box, but I feel like there are $12 worth of goodies!  I don’t know where exactly I could track those candies down around here, but I am assuming I could somewhere?  However, this saves the time and effort!!
