I totally wasn’t expecting a Beauty Box 5 this month, but what do you know, I got a shopping notification for one a few days ago. I’d originally signed up with a 3-month subscription and I guess I didn’t realize it renewed quarterly (someone should have looked a little more into that shouldn’t she of)? And it doesn’t help that right now you can’t log-in your BB5 account, which drives me batty. Still, I’m okay that it renewed (after all I did agree to it when I originally signed up) since I wasn’t sure what I was going to do anyway.
BB5 ships via DHL Global Mail and arrived very quickly this month. DHL is hustling this month! I’m hoping it’s a sign of things to come, but I’m not getting my hopes up too high.
It looks like Beauty Box 5 has just started doing monthly themes. They never had them in the past, but the September Beauty Box 5 theme was “on the go” and included some favorite products that are always needed in a pinch including the following:
~Every Beauty Makeup Remover Pads (sample): A totally easy way to remove your make-up. Just add water and wipe. I actually had some similar type of soap wipes I used with the boys. I’d pack these for traveling, but probably wouldn’t use them nightly.
~Fly Ties by Fine Featherheads ($7.95): I can always use more hair ties so these are much appreciated. And while I do like elastic ties like his, my hair always gets stuck in them. Like in the knot part. Does anyone else have this issue?
~bella pierra cosmetics celebration shimmer powder (Celebration) ($14.99): I seem to get a lot of shimmer powders, but I don’t mind at all. They are one of my favorite cosmetics products. Shimmer powders, like, mascara, are something I need to track so I can remember which ones I have tried and loved (or not loved)!
~Skin Shop Instant Skin Tightener & Line Filler ($7.99): I didn’t notice amazing results right when I applied it, but my skin did feel a bit tighter. I do wish that this sample was a bit larger though so I could try it more than 2x.
~Body Drench Lip Drench (Eucalyptus) ($1.99): I’ve tried Body Drench lotion in the past (in came in the first ever PopSugar box) and liked it so I was excited for the lip balm. While the lip balm itself is nice, I cannot stand the smell. I don’t know what eucalyptus reminds me of, but I dislike it.
All totaled I came up with a value of $32.92 for the September Beauty Box 5 and that doesn’t include one of the items since it was marked sample. Once again , the value is totally there (BB5 is $12/month, but I paid $10/month with my quarterly subscription), but I wasn’t woww’ed by it this month.
Do you get Beauty Box 5? What’d you think of the box this month? And what product variations did you get? If you are interested in signing up or just want to learn more, click here. Subscriptions start at $12/month and are even less expensive if you purchase a longer subscription (I bought a 3-month recurring subscription for $30 – i.e. $10/month).
The only difference between our boxes were that I received the eye cream from skiin and the colors of my hair bands were all blues. Just a note, the lip drench is actually $4.99 and that skin tightener is valued at $10.00. http://katieleb.blogspot.com/2013/09/beauty-box-5-september-2013.html
Your skiin cream actually says 3 ml on it. As for pricing, I just looked at what My Subscription Addiction had written down.
I will forever have a bad taste in my mouth for eucalyptus.. it’s so chemically smelling, and I had lice when I was younger (worst few days of my life) and had to use that shampoo for a good couple of months afterwards. I just can’t take anything that strong anymore!
yeah but why does the lip balm have weed in it?? HAHAHAH
My hair gets stuck in the knots too–I like those hair ties but I find that really obnoxious.
