I was totally shocked when I got an October GLOSSYBOX shipping e-mail notification late last week. Â This is early for them and this being a special collaboration box with Bydrie, I wasn’t expecting it to arrive for a while.
GLOSSYBOXÂ ships via USPS (via some third party service I believe) and took just a few days to arrive to me this month. Â Like I said our boxes came super fast this month. Â I don’t usually expect it to arrive until the last few days of the month.
I knew this was a collaboration month which usually means a special box, but I was still surprised to see this black / grey box this month. Â I save all of my GLOSSYBOX boxes and this one will certainly get added to that collection.
I never got around to looking at any full spoilers for this month so when I opened the box, I was totally surprised! Â I haven’t gone spoiler free on GLOSSYBOX in a while and it was actually quite nice. Â I’m sure it won’t be a trend going forward though!
The October GLOSSYBOX was a collaboration with Byrdie, which is a destination for all things beauty. Â It’s got reviews and tips and lots of fun goodies. Â And I was very excited when I heard that they were pairing up with GB for October because I knew it was going to be fabulous! Â And it did not disappoint. Â Here are the details:
~Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes Statement Mascara ($23): This was the spoiler that was released for this box and listen, this is even more fabulous in person than it is it is pictures.  It’s so fancy that I wasn’t even sure about how to open it.  The gold – that is the actual mascara packaging.  Isn’t it beautiful?  And the mascara itself is fabulous too.  I can’t speak to how long it lasts since I just tried it this afternoon, but it made my lashes nice and long and didn’t clump.
~Sesha Rejuvenating Anti-Wrinkle Mask ($9):  I am loving all the masks that have been coming in subscription boxes lately! I haven’t tried this yet, but it’s suppose to “smoothe fine lines and wrinkles, but also calm the skin from environmental stresses to rejuvenate it back to a youthful glow.”  I am still trying out some other masks, so sadly this one is going to have to wait.
~Balance Me Shine on Tinted Lip Salve ($19.37):  I love the color of this lip gloss and it feels great on (it’s not sticky and goes on perfect), but I don’t love the smell.  It’s not horrid, but it could be better for sure.
~Bvlgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert de Cologne ($4):Wow, I wasn’t expecting to love this, but I do!  It’s got a great clean scent.  Nothing too heavy or off-putting.  I wouldn’t mind a bottle of this for B and I to share (it’s for men and women).
~Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream ($12.60):  I love the fresh line (who doesn’t love their lip treatments) and have never tried any of their face cream.  This is light weight and a little bit goes a long way.  Also, it smells like cucumbers which I loved.
All totaled the October GLOSSYBOX had a value of $67.97!  GLOSSYBOX is only $21/month, but I actually locked in a rate of $18.75/month back when they had that special.  They remain one of my favorite subscription boxes and always provide a crazy value for the cost of the box.  No idea how they do it, but I love it!

LOVED the perfume too… shocking, as I rarely use any. Also, took me a second or two to figure out that the mascara container was actually the mascara!
I was trying to pull it out of the gold and was like why can’t I get this out???
Your reviews persuaded me to try Glossybox. Ordered my first box this month. It looks great. Can’t wait until it gets here. Oh and thanks for introducing me to Ebates. I’m like why have I not used this before.

The mascara gold packaging is beautiful!! I would also LOVE to try a anti-wrinkle mask! And I?d be totally excited about the lotus youth preserve face cream. This looks like a great box!

When does glossybox typically ship? I’m tempted to subscribe but I’m going on a long vacation and don’t want a million packages waiting for me.
Well that’s a good question. It’s typically towards the end of the month. But if you subscribe now, I *think* you can still get this box so I would think it would be shortly after you order.
I love the Bvlgari eau de cologne too! Many years ago, I stayed at a conference that was held at a Four Seasons. It was the bath products in the room and fell in love with it. I used it for years after and fell away from it. Will to pick it up again after this!
Why oh why did I never get invited to a conference at the Four Seasons for work? That sounds like a dream come true.
What do you do with all the empty boxes? I am running out of ideas.
I mainly use mine to ship things. I’ll use them as “gift boxes” during the holidays too.
I hadn’t seen any spoilers so I was very happy when I opened the box. I know some folks are complaining about getting another mascara but I’m loving all the mascaras I’ve been getting and I love the packaging on this one.
The lip salve is not my favorite. And I would never pay $20 for it! But I will use it 🙂
Eyeliner I complain about, but mascara, never. I never keep any eye makeup till it’s gone. I had an awful eye infection once and if I can’t remember when I got it, it gets tossed.
I just ordered October since it is such a great box. The best thing about Glossybox is that you can subscribe & cancel as much as you want. And, if you see a spoiler for one item or the whole box & subscribe you can usually get it that month.
I feel like Glossybox had 4 or 5 bad months last year but they seem to be turning it around!
I agree. They have a great system that lets you do everything yourself and quickly!
What do we do with the extra tip/brush that came with the mascara? Is the brush interchangeable?
For a girl who seems to love mascara, what kind of make-up remover do you use? Mine is not cutting it with some of the mascaras sent in boxes. Thanks!
I am so bad. Sometimes I just scrub until it comes clean with normal cleanser. Or I use some Clinique stuff. What do you use.
