Tuesdays Troubles

It’s time for another edition of Tuesday Troubles. I’ve said it before, but this should be named “things i’m annoyed / confused / want to complain about”, however I couldn’t figure out how to make any of those into a snappy title, so Tuesday Troubles it is. And yes, I do realize that these aren’t true “troubles”. I know that many of these for sure could be defined as first world problems!

~So B has this professor at school who leaves super long notes / comments on his assignments. All the assignments relate to the end of the semester research paper they are writing so he wants to make sure he knows what she’s saying. Only, yeah, you can’t read her writing. B showed it to me one day and I was all huh? I wasn’t even sure it was english. I used to have a boss like that too. I had no idea what many of the notes on my reports I’d turn into him were. And then I’d go ask him and he’d look and look and go you know what, no correction necessary, because he couldn’t read it either!

~Grrr. So we are in Vegas and obviously I get that food and all that is more expensive here, than in Michigan. But $4 for a box of chocolate milk at Starbucks? Seriously? I felt violated after I forked over my money (I should have read the price tag). I later realized that McDonalds, which is two steps away from Starbucks sells their containers of chocolate milk for $0.99!!!!! I usually don’t feel this way, but #mcdonaldsforthewin. Seriously Starbucks? $4?

~Oh and also, I am getting charged $35/night to “rent” a crib at the hotel. I called and asked if they had cribs and requested one in my room. Umm, no one mentioned at that time they would cost $35/night. That just seems excessive. I could have BOUGHT a brand new pack n play and had it delivered to the hotel for that. Had I realized this in advance (which I suppose is my fault because I am guessing this information is somewhere online), I would have just brought my own from home. #lessonlearned.

~My iPhoto keeps crashing and has had to be “repaired” more times than I can count. I have no idea what’s up with it (it’s empty I swear) and it’s driving me nuts.  It takes so long for it to repair itself and makes everything else slow in the process.  I am guessing this is going to require a trip to the genius bar, but I’d love to know if anyone has ever had this issue before?

~I have been selling a few things on eBay lately and am getting annoyed by the lack of payments in a timely manner.  If you win an auction and I ask you to contact me within 24 hour and send you an invoice, well, I would think that’s what you’d do.  But I’d be wrong!  It’s been, umm, 5 days and nothing.  Do I file a claim?  I don’t want to pay the fees on this you know?  But I am guessing eBay makes you wait a certain amount of time?  Anyone know?  Help!

That’s it from here for now! What’s troubling you today?

You are in Vegas right now?! So am I! 🙂

If its been over 3 days you can report a problem saying no payment recieved people normally pay pretty promptly after that.

UGH same thing with my ebay items1 Its especially bad when a lot of people bid and the winner dosent pay.. its like… so many other people were willing to pay! I literally cringe when I see someone bidding who is new and has no stars.

My iPhoto keeps locking up, but I just checked…15,000 pictures. Need to delete. UGH. I need to delete from my phone too. I hate that part 🙁

I’ve had mostly good luck with people paying on ebay. What all are you selling? I had one lady swear she didn’t get her box but I had tracking which said it was delivered and once I told her that I never heard from her again. 😉 She never filed a claim or anything just sent me a message. So annoying thinking she was really just trying to scam me into giving her money back.
Crib rental is crazy. I understand when you get a cot since really you could have gotten your own room but there is noway a kid staying in a crib could get their own room. I worry about that with C now. He does not sleep with people so even if its for one night and we think we’ll just put him in bed with us or with N nope it doesn’t work so I always have to get him something. N was so easy and would just curl up with us and sleep well he’s 5.5 now and I’m pretty sure he would still sleep with me everynight if I’d let him. LOL I keep telling C too that he’s going to have to sleep in a big boy bed soon and he tells me no he’s sleeping in his crib. I may have a kindergartner still sleeping in that thing at the rate he’s going. I’m not really complaining since he is very well contained in there but one of these days he’ll need to be out of it.

Yes open a claim! It happens to me all the time. They almost always pay right away after you open a claim. Ebay drives me crazy some times but people buy things for crazy amounts, so i keep selling.

So jealous you are in Vegas 🙂 !! We love it there. But yes, the food and everything is so incredibly marked up! I bought my husband and I 2 regular coffees from Starbucks, nothing fancy, and my total was about 10$, I looked at them like they were crazy haha. Then I sat down at the nickel slots right next to us and won back my 10 🙂 Have fun!!

You should tell MGM no one told you about a fee! They may say its in their book or online, but they may remove the fee. MGM has always been great when we stay there and always have tried to fix anything we felt was wrong. The wort try can do is tell you they can’t do anything.

I’ve sold several things on ebay and I luckily have had great luck with my buyers. I do state in my auctions that I expect payment within 48 hours and if it’s not paid I will relist the item. I go ahead and send an invoice once the auction ends. I’m not sure about filing a claim though. Do you have an ebay store?? I’d love to check it out if so.

If they dont pay in the designated time frame you set forth then you can report them. I am a religious user and that would be annoying I always pay withen 24 hrs im so afraid they will relist and I get bad points. You can also leave negative feedback for them to warn other sellers that they dont comply.

Vegas is like the airlines…they pretty much charge for everything so you have to be very careful what you ask for. Things that used to be provided for free are now costing mucho bucks. We are planning some trips out of the continental US next year and we are trying to figure out how much a day we have to budget for all the crap that they don’t tell you up front.

Yay for Vegas, I’ll be there next week for work/play :). The same thing happened to me, but with a rollaway bed at a hotel in CA. I told them I wasn’t told about the expense ($25/night) and they took off the charges- so ridiculous! You should request that! Have fun!

That happens to me so frequently on ebay and I hate it as well. Yeah you can report it, but unfortunately some of them just never pay :/

So I have been selling a lot on eBay the past year….I have had a few non payers but not many. In my auctions I ask for payment within 24 hours after the auction ends or item will be re listed and a claim filed.

You need to actually wait 4 days from auction end. So if it ends Sunday night at 10pm you can file a claim Thursday night 10pm or later if that makes sense. That is the only ways to gets your fees back and most pay by then. Also a buyer can leave you negative feedback, but you cannot leave a buyer negative feedback. Sucks I know! I think EBay may be working on changing that.
