November Kelly Rowland Fancy Box

My much awaited November Kelly Rowland Fancy Box arrived today. I have been waiting for this Fancy Box since I signed up last month. This was the first Kelly Rowland Fancy Box and I was so curious to see what her selections would be.

If you aren’t familiar, the Fancy has a “regular” Fancy Box full of cool goodies or celebrity curated boxes which include a collection of the coolest products hand-picked by Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Verbal, Ashton Kutcher, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Coco Rocha, Tyler Florence or Pink. They also offer a Fancy Food Box.

The Box

I didn’t receive any shipping notification form Fancy for this box, but I am signed up for FedEx delivery alerts (*) so I knew it was on it’s way. And if you don’t want to sign up for FedEx’s service and want to know if a Fancy Box has shipped, you can go into your account on Fancy and grab your order number and use it to track by reference on FedEx.com.

First Look

Thank you to K over at A Hipster Subscribes to Boxes, I knew what was coming in the box, but it was still fun to open it up and check everything out in person. I had been looking for spoilers earlier in the day and kind of just gave up and then she left me a comment saying she had received hers. I was so excited because I was dying to know what was in this one.

The Information Card

Unlike all the other Fancy Box cards I have ever received, this was a fold out information card booklet! Not sure if this is a new thing or what, but I am kind of liking it. And while I do have my doubts about some of the celebrity curated boxes, I do think that Kelly really did make this selections. Here are her picks for November:

~Diana Baby 110 Camera with 24mm Lens ($59): I have seen these on Fancy a few times and have always hoped one would appear in one of my Fancy boxes. It takes little square pictures and can fit anywhere because it’s so tiny. However, it doesn’t come with any film! The information card says that to stay tuned and she might help us out with that, so I’m not sure what that means. Hopefully some just appears at my door?? I’ll update if that happens.

~Ciaté Very Colourfoil Manicure ($25): Love this! I love all the Ciaté manicure sets and while this one is a bit on the wild side, I still plan to try it. Probably one day that B is home so I can have a long time to play around with it and see how it works.

~Paris Skyline Tights ($15): While adorable, I am not sure (okay, I KNOW) that these are not “me”. I am sure I can find someone who they are perfect for, so I will be passing them along. Maybe to my old high school french teacher? I could see her appreciating something like this to wear to french class.

~Precision Eyelash Curler by Japonesque ($14): This is cool. I have never seen this and had to try it right away and it works quite well. Sort of related, but not really, but has anyone any eyelashes extensions? Tell me everything!

All totaled, the November Kelly Rowland Fancy Box had a value of $113, which as always, is far beyond the cost of the box itself (Fancy Boxes are $39 + $7.95 shipping). I think this box was well worth the money, but would have been even more excited about it had it contained film for the camera.  And hopefully that will just show up soon ;).

Did you get the November Kelly Rowland Fancy Box?  What’d you think of her first box? If you are thinking of ordering this or ANY of the Fancy Boxes, click here and get on it! You can always use the coupon code “FOLLOWUP10″ to save 10% on any Fancy.com, order, including subscription boxes.  If you can’t find the Fancy Box you are looking for, I suggest just doing search for “Fancy Box“. It’s much easier than trying to navigate their site.

I have eyelash extensions and love them! I wasn’t sure about getting them at first because of the cost and the time commitment. But then one of my daycare clients who is a beautician offered to do them in trade. BINGO!

They are only on the top lashes and it just looks like I have on a few really good coats of mascara. You do not wear mascara on them though. The first application took an hour and half and the refills take about an hour of just laying there. I tried eeking my refill out to 3 weeks but then she just has to add more lashes/spend more time/charge more $$ so no real advantage. My hubby loves them too!

    1. Jennifer

Interesting! So no mascara? Do you just get a dark lash?

  2. K

Yay! You got it! Yeah the tights… I’m trying to decide if I can pull them off or if I should just gift them to a Francophile…

I’ve done eyelash extensions twice now! (I assume you mean the kind where they glue the lashes on, not the adhesive falsies? Though I’ve used those too…) You definitely have to go to someone who knows what they are doing and can create a natural look, otherwise it can be way too WHOA. I felt like I had fans on my eyes. They’re very pretty, and definitely open up your eyes and you basically don’t need mascara (mascara doesn’t work great on them anyway bc they’re glued on to your existing eyelashes individually). They can feel a little stiff and takes some getting used to — definitely not as soft as your own eyelashes, esp with the glue. And when they start wearing off, they get annoying bc they sort of start hanging off by just a little glue (very strong glue). I started wanting to pick them off but you run the risk of plucking out your own eyelashes. You’re technically supposed to go back to the technician to get them redone every few weeks I think, so I imagine then they’d remove them for you before they get too annoying, but it was too expensive for me to upkeep. But they’re definitely fun!

I hope this is what you were asking about bc if not, I totally just gave you completely unnecessary information!

    1. Jennifer

Yeah, like where you go to a salon or whatever? Were they expensive?

      1. K

Yeah I think there are salons that will do it. I don’t know where you live, but if you live somewhere where there is a big Asian community, they might even have salons that specialize in it (eyelash extensions are really popular in Asia, so these technicians really know what they are doing!). My friend who hasn’t gone without extensions for like 5 years now has been going to a Korean salon for them for the entire time and they look gorgeous. I can’t remember how much mine were, but they are pricey. I think the initial cost is usually at least $150-$250, and refills are like $75-90 each. So yeeeah. Fun to splurge on once or twice, but def not something I can maintain.

  3. Amanda

I got eyelash extensions earlier this year for my engagement photos. They are awesome, I loved them! I would definitely do them again if they weren’t so expensive.

    1. Jennifer

Now did you have problems taking make-up off? Any issues at all? I am so curious about these.

      1. Amanda

Nope, not really. After a few weeks the lashes would come off when I took off my makeup but it was slowly. For a while I had a lone lash hanging on for dear life haha

  4. Judy

Glad I didn’t order this one. I already received a similar camera in a previous fancy box and the rest of the stuff is just not for me. Sadly I had to skip a lot of my fancy boxes for November, so I’ll be living through reviews!

    1. Jennifer

I canceled Coco Rocha for a bit. I might let another let another one go for a few months too, but I am not sure what one??

  5. Shannon

I had eyelash extensions. Worst decision ever! My first thought was they did not add nearly enough volume. They were sort of long, but you couldn’t really see them unless I added mascara. Which brings me to my next problem. DONT PUT MASCARA ON THEM. There is literally no good way to wash your eyes with the extensions. You can’t rub your eyes at all or they will rip out and take your natural lashes with them. Washing your face is a nightmare. And when they do decide to come off they will take your natural lashes with them. Even if you do everything right. I did them over 6 months ago and my eye lashes still haven’t recovered. Ugh. Rant over. Sorry!

    1. Jennifer

No, this is all good to know!!!!! So basically, they won’t work without mascara and then when you put mascara on they come off! That doesn’t sound good!

      1. Shannon

Yeah I got mine at the salon as well. I think I was looking for a Kim Kardashian va va voom eyelash. I didn’t see the point in paying all that money for a little change. I just didn’t see it unless I used mascara. Also you can’t use any product on your face at all that has any oils in it. It will dissolve the glue. You can’t rub your eyes or dry them in any way. If you put a towel near your eyes you can rip out the lashes. It was just so restrictive for me and not worth the trouble. But I may be in the minority in my opinion.

        1. Jennifer

Oh I for sure want the va va voom too. I mean why pay all that if no one can tell?

  6. Shelby

Oh my gosh I want that camera! So cute

    1. Jennifer

      I just need some film!!!

    1. Jennifer

They do sell some on Fancy. But I really think some is just going to appear. LOL.

  7. ruth

Hi, I was just curious if you’ve heard anything about the winter allure beauty box?

Hope they didn’t cancel it… I love the allure beauty boxes… thanks.

    1. Jennifer

I haven’t heard anything! Last year I think they announced it it the week of Thanksgiving and it went on sale on BlackFriday. Something along those lines?

      1. Savanna

It’s going on sale 11/19 they put the announcement today!

        1. Jennifer

I saw that! Are you picking one up? I’m
          On the fence!

  8. Meghan C

Oh I love this box! I was never really sure about Fancy boxes but I might have to subscribe to the Kelly one! Maybe I’ll wait and see how the next few are.

    1. Jennifer

You just never know with Fancy! I really do like the JLH ones too!

  9. Tabitha

This looks like a good box, definitely seems like Kelly Rowland.

    1. Jennifer

      Agreed!

  10. Jenna

OMG! This is the FIRST fancy box (besides all the Tyler Florence ones) that I actually like! I love each item! Those tights are SO damn cute. But I’m also obsessive about tights…I love all tights haha. What a fun start up box for her. I can’t wait to see the next boxes from Kelly. If I had the extra money I would sign up for hers!

    1. Jennifer

      I hope it keeps up!
